Thank you so much, Joanna. I'm 17 and started from zero in the beginning of this year at 92kg, i was so unhappy and depression and social phobia got the best of me. I ate so much bad stuff out of anger and frustration and i couldn't stop, one day i thought to myself that i can't go on this way, I felt like dying honestly. I kinda wanted to die but i had hope and trust in this world and myself, so I started my journey. Fast-forward I'm at 63kg now, i learned everything myself. A few months ago I found your channel and i really have to thank you. They helped me so so much, i love your workouts and trough your other videos i learned so much about nutrition and what's best for my body. Also your videos made me really interested in nutrition and fitness so much that i'm thinking of becoming a nutrionist. I'm so much stronger and happier now, things that used to be hard for me are so easy now and you helped me a lot with that, thank you so so much. Much much love from me. 💙💫

you're fantastic, Joanna! I love your videos. You helped to inspire me to try the Asian way of eating and since I started that, I went from about 278 lbs to 272 lbs at the moment. I am also taking a week to cut carbs like pasta, potatoes and rice and that is going to be incredibly hard, but it's just a faith - fueled thing that I am doing for a religious conference regarding coming closer to God. It might be a yearly thing if I don't lose my mind lol, like Lent. Who knows? All I know is that eating as Asians do has been a big enough challenge for the long haul. Thank you for that inspiration

Great Video! Like she mentioned, its Calories in vs. Calories out. Every person's body is different. From experience, IF is effective, you're using stored energy/glycogen in your muscles. When you break your fast, your body stores glycogen and water in your muscles again. So it's just a repeating cycle. That's why she stressed it's about Calories in vs. Calories out. A more effective way to burn fat is a low carb/keto diet. When your body restricts carbs/sugar, its needs to find an energy source. When your body has no glycogen stored in your muscles, it will use stored fat for energy. 200 calories of Carbs is not the same as 200 calories of Protein. Carbs will spike your blood glucose levels and cause all kinds of health problems ie. Diabetes, Heart Disease, etc. Me personally, I count only my carbs. I eat a ton of Veggies, Fats, and Protein and I maintain a six pack year round. That's sustainable because you eat more food.

Dieting myths: cut carbs to lose weight (mostly rice since this is my nation's staple food), but pay no mind to sugar. I've seen so many people trying to reduce their rice intake, only to compensate by snacking on high carbs high sodium chips or indulge in sugary boba drinks. I think that rather than focusing on calories on every food label, it's more important to educate people about sugar. I've counted calories for years to no effect because of this sugar trap. Once I learn to limit my sugar intake and be mindful of what I eat, I've since lost 15 kg and am now binging on Jo's vids to boost my workout :)

For me, sweating is the only way i lose weight. 😅 im not a heavy eater, in fact i only eat 1 meal a day. Since im just at home, i dont burn much calories so i dont really feel hungry most of the time. Until i got an on-job-training at this well known hotel. I was one of the assistant cooks who are the ones who has to do the ingredient preparations also has to run about the hotel premises to deliver ingredients to other restaurants within the hotel, or bringing and refilling food on function locations. Basically, i have to run around a LOT all day. Because of that, i became easily hungry and crave food. But the food around me that i can easily eat - also the snacks served at our canteen - are mostly fruits. We have salads, fruits, real fruit juices, as well as pastries. And the food that i can eat sneakily on the job are lettuces. 😅 (going in the chiller to get stuff as well as sneakily stuff a leaf or three of lettuce in my mouth 😅). The more i work, the more i ate. But guess what? I lost weight! I got so surprised about it. One day, it was my day off, i ran out of shorts to wear except for the smaller ones - the ones that i couldn't even get the zipper to close. I had to make holes on it so i can "close" it with a shoelaces. But on that day, i was surprised to see that it fit me. It was even bigger by 1 inch. I was mind blown. No wonder i'd been needing shorter belts for my pants! I loved it. Made me look back on whay i have been doing and eating so i can keep up with my weight loss til i get to my desired body size. Unfortunately i wasn't able to keep up with that. I was going to be absorbed by the hotel but my family started a store and they made me the cashier. All i've been doing is sit on the register all day cause our store is too busy and there's only one cashier. >x< i wish i could do that again. Now that i know that i can eat as much delicious food as i can and still manage to lose weight - i just need the time to be able to work out too so i can burn the extra fat i've been gaining. >x< That's why im turning to your videos. Im looking at exercises that i can do on the short time i have during the evening. :D

i prefer eating huge meals of cakes and cookies, but I realized the only way my body loses weight is by having 3 boiled eggs in the mornign 3 in the afternoon and oatmeal at night, basically i followed vicky versitiles diet and it freakin worked , i got extreme energy I think my only problem was my tongue was getting bored lol, if I can just ignore my sweet tooth, losing weight would be effortless. because i dont crave any food, i just crave sugar, i dont eat rice pasta, barely bread, i can go days without dairy and meat and cheese, i dont crave any of it . my weakness is cake :(!!!!

Concerning intermittent fasting, the Islamic way, for example, is for 1 month a year, & optionally 2 days a week the rest of the year (Mon & Thurs by prophet, preferred). Note that, the sick, elderly, pregnant, travelers (during the travel action itself), children (before self-awareness & puberty) are exempt (more accurately, not obliged), & the females during menstruation are banned from fasting. Also it is from dawn to sunset for a reason (that God knows better).

Breakfast is the recipe for gaining weight. The best time to allow your body to use its fat reserves is after sleeping when the body is in a fasted state already. Just try it. 90% of my life I have not eaten breakfast. I'm age 44, I have low body fat, and I am fit as fiddle. Never had major health issues. On days when I eat breakfast I get hungry earlier than on days when I don't. Intermittent fasting is a key to prolonged healthy life. I perform better both physically and mentally in fasted state. No need to listen to anybody just experiment on yourself. You'll be shocked by the results.
