One of my grandmothers died of lung cancer and never smoked in her life. My other grandmother had breast cancer and I believe she lived into her 70s or 80s. My mother had high blood pressure and heart disease and lived until her 80s. My father had high blood pressure and several mild strokes starting from 50 years of age. He lived into his 80s. His father who was my grandfather had seven strokes and only lived until his 60s. As for me, I'm 65 years of age taking prescrbed blood pressure medication and hoping that when I come off my blood thinners because of a stent fitting that I can ease off the blood pressure medication. So far no heart attack or stroke for me. As long as my cardiologist approves I will slowly try coming off that medication as well as the statin I am taking for cholesterol.

Dr. Story, if you have time please cover those of us who still have high blood pressure while fasting (up to 144 hours maximum so far), excellent diets, and a history of physical fitness (50 pushups, 1 minute plank, and 15 miles cycling every morning, 21 years of Active Duty US Army exercise). The multi-day fasting has been AWESOME for me. My blood work biometrics went from meh to AWESOME! But my blood pressure won't budge. 😡 With my six day water fast, I lose about 2.5 pounds per day and save about 3 hours of food preparation, eating, and cleaning, and about $20 to $50 in food costs. My target weights are 197 pounds (my old US Army screening weight), 188 pounds (my high school jujitsu and cross country running weight), and 172 pounds (correct BMI for me and my deployment weight). My assumption is that at 172 pounds I will have moderate hypertension to good blood pressure. But a monthly seven day fasting program might be necessary for my maintenance.

It's the whisky. It's turns easily and quickly into sugar. Sugar- not LDL - and the excess pressure on the inner lining if the artery that damages the inner wall of the artery through inflammation. Well, this is both amusing & telling: the very first time I took my own bp at home with a monitor I bought because I had been diagnosed in the doctor's office with high bp, it was7:11pm on 5/17/2010. My bp was 124/57 with a pulse rate of 64. Remember this is 2010 when a "normal" bp is 140/90. The first time I crested 140 was on 12/24/2010. I had probably been around my d-i-l that day. 😂 My bp did not stay there. It went back down to "normal" & generally below "normal". So here I am in 2024 & over a 66 day period my average bp was 130/59. I fell for the BS about my bp (white coat syndrome!!!), I was scared because of an actual history of cardio problems on my mom's side, and I started on bp drugs. Recently, I changed my PCP - say & spell QUACK - and he changed the bp drug I was on to an ACE inhibitor. It made me weak, unsteady, & foggy brained. I quit it cold turkey - I didn't ask, I didn't tell - and the average bp noted above is what I ended up with. My body is slowly but noticeably forgiving me for the extended abuse I put it through. Health is a beautiful thing and is our true wealth. Just about every day I spend some time researching health matters by following generous & altruistic people like Dr. Story. Thank you again, Dr. Story. Have a Happy & Prosperous New Year! 🙏❤️🇺🇲🎉

Don’t give up. Are you followed by a cardiologist?? My mom was on a rotation of 3 BP meds for over a year before they got it under control. Are you using the correct size cuff. Are you relaxing for several minutes before taking it? Is your arm/cuff level with your heart ?
@Breezeyogi2 күн бұрын
Your top number is in the high danger vibe. Yiu are at imminent risk of a cardiac event or stroke. Lisarten was my main blood pressure drug but wasn't working sufficiently, just like yours. My Cardiologist tried different additional meds and nothing worked until he prescribed an older med called "Nefedipine." It worked right away. I've now been taking it and Losarten for a few years, and my BP has steadily decreased. I'm now usually in the range of around 115/70, often lower. The other things that have brought it down is daily walking, weight loss and taking various supplements. I also put about a gram of Cayenne Pepoer into my smoothie every day. Aksi, get a high quality Extra Vurgin Olive Oil and over the course of the day have three spoonfuls. It could help soften your arteries and heart walls over a long period and that helps bring down blood pressure over time. Make sure it's extremely high quality as there has been a widespread problem of heavy metals being found in various brands. Same with fish oil. Take 840 mgs every day. Lastly, I take a bunch of carefully chosen supplements everyday fir heart health and to reduce oxidation and inflammation. They include: Taurine, Natikinase, an array of all for if Magnesium, D3&K2 combined (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT), Coenzyme cq10 as Quinol, Celery extract in pills, Quercetin and one ir two others I can't recall. And eating properly and not LATE are of key importance. Bith of my BP nu version were wat, way Hugh than yours about 5 tears ago. They are niw very good from tons of work. I also exercise. I'm 67. So far so good. Also, I forgot, get a goid quality cacao (70% or mote concentration). Also, COMPLETELY eliminate ALL FORMS of sugar from your diet - cold turkey. And renenber: tabke sugar, honey and all the rest are the same molecule and will kill yiu. Yes, himoney has sine abti-inflammatory qualities, put it us a toxin from a cardiovascular perspective. The same with fast food - it is COMPLETELY toxic. Oh,and be sure to consume at least 30 grams of solvable dietary fiber everyday. You can get it though a combination of foods like avocado and supplement that with Inulin powder and psyllium husk. Use different types of fiber in combination everyday. You're microbes in your gut stationed at different places in your system eat different types of fibers. Good luck!

Now, after 2 years of 18/6 fasting, low carb and getting into ketosis everyday, I do not take any meds (of any type) and my BP is 100/70 nominal and goes down to like 80/65 after exercising (returns to the nominal 100/70 after about an hour). The advice you give is excellent. I don't agree with the fact that genetics "suck". If you analyze it seriously you might even find Neanderthal genes in your DNA. You are a very complex mixture and a "machine" that works. About the mitochondria: congratulations! They are all from your mother and your mother's mother..."feminine energy" hahaha. Look, going out for a walk has its disadvantages. You notice that a motor vehicle passes by and billions of aromatic hydrocarbons come out of its exhaust. You breathe them in with all your energy. You have stopped smoking, you are a man in recovery from vices. You breathe in all the smoke from the exhaust pipe of the guy who passes by in his truck. In that case, I prefer horse-drawn cars. Dear, you are invited to visit a peripheral area of the Empire: Buenos Aires. I will give you healthy food, don't doubt it. I am also an expert in that. I'm from 1958 and Argentina was another kind of "periphery", more closely linked to Europe. You are a great person. Take care of yourself!
