In 2019, I had high blood pressure. I was given medication. I saw two doctors, a general and a specialist. Neither asked about my nutrition, exercise habits, stress or sleep. While I was actually exercising, my diet was still high on carbs and I had high stress levels and did not sleep well. I did not take the medication. I ramped up my workouts, I went very low carb on my nutrition, I reduced my stress by meditating and breathing exercises and I did things to sleep better like no caffeine after 2PM, no food after 5PM and I reduced my stress levels. I was 66 at the time. I managed to get well during the pandemic, did not take the vaccine and remained healthy. Now I am 71 and in great shape. BP around 120 over 60, my waist size is the same as when I was 25 and I don’t see doctors anymore. I am now close to a full carnivore and I work out five days a week. I walk everywhere, I don’t take elevators or electric stairs. Plus I don’t live in Canada, the US, the UK, Australia or many parts of the European Union. This alone can raise your stress levels and blood pressure!

Almost three years ago my BP was 200/119. Medication brought it down but I did not want to stay on the meds. By following Dr. Story's advice I was able to reduce my medication to 1/2 a diuretic pill a day and get my BP down to where I am getting daily readings that are below 120/80. The only thing I am doing that I don't recall coming from Dr. Story is drinking 16 ounces of celery juice on an empty stomach most mornings. I hope everyone has a happy Labor Day!

At age 88 I was 5-11 & 185 lbs, stopped eating breakfast, ate a meal with generous supplements at noon & 6 or 7 p.m. only, lost 5 lbs. a month easily to 170 (my weight at age 40). My weight has stabilized at 160 (my weight in high school). My current age is 93. Doing chest breathing, 6 breaths a minute for 3 minutes, after stress, I have lowered systolic 40 points. At rest BP is under 120/70.

After two months, I joined the gym ,working out 5 days a week for three hours, after work (strength training, HIIT, cycling & zumba) for three years. I went down to 115lbs (I used to be 150bs). I kept it off the weight for 5 years. I always watch what I eat coz I do not believe going on a diet. I cut down on high intensity training, but, did heavy weights. I jog 5 miles three times a week. I gained more muscle and toned. High blood pressure and diabetes run in our family. My blood pressure is controled and so my blood sugar level.

I asked my GP to refer me again to weight management. This time was a different program. Its called lifestyle changes. They shut you down every time you say the word diet or exercise. They said eventually everyone fails diets. I only made 3 changes, drinkbat least 2 litres of water. Since I have hypothyroidism, I have bad habits of NOT eating. What I did eat was BAD. I love my 2 toasts lathered with butter (salted butter) I love salt 🧂 😋, and a 16 oz mug of tea, whats in it? Cream and whole milk. Thats it all day. So the changes I made was substitute the butter and toast, and start eating every 2 hours. After the yoghurt, fruit or eggs, for breakfast, after 2 hours I would eat a bowl full of fruit, since I'm not a sweet eater, I added chaat masala black pepper and lemon and orange juice drops. I enjoyed that actually. Its called fruit chaat. 2 hours later, lunch. I made home made soup, it had to have lots of vegetables in it, specially red and green, in the slow cooker. I like chicken corn soup or chicken noodle soup, and beef barley. At around 5 pm dinner. I marinated chicken in 0 fat or low fat yogurt and lots of vegetables, specially green and red ones. With my meals no bread or rice. Since I'm disabled and limited to my physical activities I opted to be in the kitchen at least 4 hours a day, I would clean cupboards, bend a lot and go up and down a lot. I am in a wheelchair but I even walked a bit, across the road from me, theres a small water area with ducks and geese. Lots of benches to sit on. Twice I walked across and didn't take the car. After 1 year I lost 28 kg. If I can do it, anyone can.

And since I started eating raw I have noticed I no longer get leg cramps even though I am not adding any salt. Zero supplements too, of course. Hope that helps. Everything you said was very good, and well presented, until you arrived at substituing sodium with potassium . , have a salt substitute . I do not think that it is a good idea, eventually it is quite unhealthy, I know a few people who did this at the suggestion of their doctor, and all became very ill, and died early. They developed oedemas especially in the legs.By doing this, PH of the body is out of balance, has to be a bit more alkaline just a bit more, not totally alkaline. Also the heart and brain suffer, because salt helps with the electrical impulses in the heart and brain.as well. We need salt,it can be reduced but not eliminated completely. It is important what salt we use, and Pink Hymalayan Salt is very good, also Celtic Salt is good as well.

Lowering blood pressure naturally by 40mmHg is a significant achievement that typically involves multiple lifestyle changes. I adopted a DASH diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, while drastically reducing sodium intake. Regular exercise became a priority, with 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week. I lost weight through these dietary changes and increased physical activity. Stress management techniques like meditation and deep breathing exercises played a crucial role. I also cut back on alcohol and quit smoking. Additionally, I incorporated potassium-rich foods and natural supplements like garlic and omega-3 fatty acids. Consistency was key, and these changes, maintained over time, led to a substantial reduction in my blood pressure without medication.

I would go to the gym daily, so I couldn't figure out what was going wrong. I changed my diet completely - eliminated carbohydrates completely 😢and increased the fat content. Yes, the BP numbers dropped but fluctuated during the day. I discovered beetroot, and that lowered my numbers dramatically. I stopped the morning dose altogether, and if it drops at night, at least I am asleep. I also take magnesium supplement. I do have many of the whole foods mentioned in this video. I lost about 10 lbs in 1 month by eating once a day plus a snack. I eat very little carbs but lots of meat and butter and also lots of greens and fruit. In the morning i do not eat however I put unsalted organic butter in my coffee (and not little, quite a bit!). The reason for this is when you eat once a day and almost no carbs you absolutely need to increase fat otherwise you will go into starvation after a few days. At lunch I don’t eat anything. Then, around 5:00 I eat either steak or burger or chicken or fish (any of these with lots of vegetables sometimes with butter). Then around 7:30/8:00 pm I have some natural yogurt and then some fruit. I do not touch the sweetened sugary yogurt from supermarket. in the weekend I may eat twice a day because I meet with friends or family but during the week I find it so much better not to eat at lunch. I can think more clearly at work and I got used to the hungry feeling and looking forward to my one meal plus the snack later in the day

I lost 20 pounds in 7 weeks, on somewhat of a Ketovore diet AND walking at least a mile and a half immediately after each meal. I also completely gave up most breads and all sugar, using only Stevia in my decaf coffee. I skipped breakfast every day except Sundays, for lunch I made either a chicken or tuna wrap on flatbread loaded with lettuce, tomato, cheese and onions…but most days I would make a big arugula and spinach salad with all the fixings, radishes, onions, olives, egg, tomato, cucumbers, bell peppers, and feta cheese. I still used creamy ranch dressing, and still lost alot of weight. For dinner (most days) I would satiate myself with any kind of whole meats there are, but mostly grass fed steaks, beef, fish, and chicken, with fresh steamed vegetables on the side. Overall, it’s really not difficult to lose weight with a goal in mind, it’s a matter of discipline. At age 60, I went from 185 to 165 in 7 weeks, and my goal is to get down to 135-145, which was the weight I was after having 3 children 35 years ago.

Thanks for your extremely important advice. I have recently, about 3 months ago, en seeing a Wellness alternative lady. I now only eat for blood group A+. Hunter grower diet. No domestic meat only venison and chicken, warthog etc. Not all the veggies but most. No potatoes only sweet basmati rice. Sourdough and rye bread, but not often. I only use Himalayan and Celtic salt never white table salt, bad for Blood pressure. I also do the nitric acvid breathing, though the nose. Weights and tapping. Rebounding and everyday water aerobics in summer ☀️. Live in East London, a little seaside resort, in Eastern Cape, South Africa. Have lost 10kgs weigh 60kgs. Yipeeeee. I do have a glass of red wine. I was addicted to energy drinks for 17 years. I now feel happy and healthy. I take omega3 and vitamin K2-D3. Since I stopped the BP meds l need to work on repairs to my body which went through asault from thiazide medications for over 20 years. I believe it can be done.

This was a great video, filled with good information but also common sense. As far as diet goes, I follow quite strictly a protocol of no ultra processed foods, including pre-packaged meals, chips, cookies, store-bought bread, etc. Other than that, it's combination of Mediterranean and DASH diets. Also, I eliminated all table salt from my diet and whenever possible, we only choose no salt added foods and eliminated sodium from the cooking process. I do think I went a little overboard on the salt minimization. I exercise regularly, work up a good sweat usually, and am a salty sweater, so I lose sodium through sweating. I also do take a low dose of an anti-hypertensive ARB medication, which retains potassium and I eat potassium rich foods. As a result, I think I suffered from an electrolyte imbalance (as you mention, potassium and sodium levels in the blood can work inversely of eachother). I started getting night leg cramping which I think reflected too low of a sodium level, so now I watch my salt intake and if I feel I'm eating too many low sodium foods on a given day, I'll salt my decaf coffee with Celtic sea salt. (Funny thing is, I no longer like foods to taste salty and my spouse needs a low sodium diet, so I have to be careful about having too much salt in our meals). For exercise, I do aerobic work outs, plus fairly intense cycling 6 days a week, and I walk and move around frequently (live on an active farm so there's always physical work to do). My BMI dropped to what is considered "moderate thinness" , rather than the normal range, but I feel great a bit thinner as I'm very petitely framed. I would add stretching to your list of exercises, along with the isometrics that you mentioned, as there is evidence suggesting that stretch exercises can keep the arteries and veins from getting too stiff. Once again, great video- thanks!

For me, over 10 years ago, I was having a mediteranean diet, without caring that much about calories, but I reduced sugar. However what did the trick to lose 20kg in about two and a half months, was walking 1 hour a day at a very fast pace (6km/h). I started by walking about 1~2km a day at a normal pace, increasing gradually for the first month. Then for the one and a half month that followed, I was starting my day early by walking those 6km at the fastest pace that I could. I was sweating a lot at the begining, and I remember weighing myself one time before the walk, drinking 2lt of water during, and weighing myself after it, only to find out about 100g difference (i.e. about 2lt of sweat was lost, along with a bit of weight). At the end of this effort, I was able to walk uphill at that pace without even sweating. After the first few weeks, it felt so great, I didn’t even want to skip a single day without going for that fast walk. At the end of those two and a half months, I was coming back without even sweating at all, or feeling any tired. This was the time when I injured myself by running fast while my weight was still high, even though I’d already lost the 20kg, and I injured myself, taking some months to recover. I’m not saying that this is for everyone obviously. I started by being very obese, and this was what worked for me at that time. It was just a lesson to be more careful the next time, and to not overdo it.

Unrefined salt (sea salt, Himalayan, etc does not contribute to high blood pressure, because the sodium chloride is neutralized by the various natural products in sea ( or unrefined) salt). Refined salt (regular table salt) in the blood stream, is surrounded by 5 molecules of water (as a protection) against the mono ingredient (sodium cloride). The mechanism for refined salt to contribute to high blood pressure is the necessary protection of the surrounded water molecules. In other words, refined (regular table) salt causes excess water to enter the blood stream.
