I have a lot of videos go viral and I get some of the WORST comments on those videos... about me, about my body, about my perceived beliefs/values, and like... anything. They tear me apart. It used to impact me. I used to obsessively read all of those comments and respond to them for engagement... but eventually, it impacted my mental health so poorly that I couldn't anymore. So now, I just don't respond to anything but nice comments. It's hard, because you still see the cruel ones, but it helps some. Sending you an internet hug 🥺

I actually think the last one is the most important: only if you find true passion and fulfillment in something, you’ll be able to sustain it. And then it doesn’t matter if it gets hard sometimes because you know your path and purpose behind it. Just started this year in my KZbin journey and it feels just so right!

Love this video!! I started my journey as CC 3 years ago as a Melbourne food blogger and was loving the community I built and the events and brands I got to work with. But recently I moved to India and know absolutely no one in my field, brands don’t know me and because I’m getting no work, I have really lost my passion and desire that I used to have for content creation. I’m hoping to move on from this plateau stage and start loving what I do!! Your videos remind me of why I started and how far I have come☺️🤫

Hey Mille! I've been watching and taking in your content since around April, and I GENUINELY appreciate the transparency around Content Creation! I still am not blessed to be in a position to create Full Time, but I create in as many ( and healthily) hours a week as I possibly can. It's been about 3/4 months since I've really started hardening down on Content Creation, and I've hit SO many milestones just in those 3 months. I wake up every morning excited to exist, and I can't wait to be able to Create Full Time, even with the downsides that may come with it. 🤫

I love this video. Keep producing your content. Ignore the haters. I've learned that people who have the time to make such comments, have no ambition, motivation, or courage to take the risk on themselves because they are afraid to fail, lack self confidence in their abilities, or they are living without purpose. I read a meme one day that said " People who are already beneath you, will always try to pull you down". Keep shining bright.

LOVED this!! Thank you for admitting that the trolling gets to you sometimes. Due to the niche I'm in I suspect I get a higher % of trolling than most, and while I can let most of it easily roll off my back there are some comments that sting! I often hear "you can't let it get to you", but haven't heard a big creator admit is DOES get to them. Thanks for being human haha

I think it is both scary and comforting how wildly accurate this video is. When I started creating content it was just a way for me to express myself artistically and kind of escape how lack luster life could be at times. Going to work a job where your worth can be so misrepresented if you don't act accordingly by their standards...I just needed something else. My curiosity grew and I found myself falling deeper into the rabbit hole of content creation. I was surprised at how quickly it came natural to me because I wouldn't have called myself a creative person. I began to love it so much so I thought I wanted to do it full time and that became my goal. This was before thousands of followers and learning how brands work. I still don't have the level of social media success to make money to live off of, but even just working towards that goal was enough of a life disruption. I would add 1 more harsh truth, besides everything you named. It can be extremely lonely. If your core friend group don't make content, or even your relationship understand...it can leave you without those people and you could be forced to make a choice. Social media is still new enough to where most people don't understand the amount of work involved or level of dedication to be successful. And unfortunately...your friends, significant others, and family members are no exception. This was a great video and I appreciate you sharing this. It really hit home.

I totally get #2. As much as I'd love a perfect content creation world where everyone loves my stuff, I had to be real and remind myself that you can't please everyone. What helped me avoid letting this affect me more than it should, was that no matter what, I am happy with my channel, I would want to keep being me, and I wouldn't want to keep altering and adjusting my style just to appear like everyone else. People know what they're getting when they watch my videos, and I shouldn't try to sound like or be like anyone other than ME! ❤

🤫 Thanks for sharing this. It’s not JUST stress. I think we have to understand that the stress hormone is preventing other systems from working. Its purpose is to put you into a flight or fight state. It prevents any regeneration processes. Eg one small one is you fingernails don’t grow, a bigger one it stops regenerating brain cells. I love what you said you have to be intentional with your break times and your mental health. Every six month you go to the dentist for a check up take your time to check your mental health.

Your 2018 pixie hair cut is awesome 11:09 ! I am only focused on youtube. Recently monetized. I moved from the US to southern Brazil and thought it would be neat to document my journey. The work on the property is hard then add in the videoing, the editing and the posting and managing of comments. I feel at times to much but then a new project comes and I am like yeah lets video this. What you do is unimaginable from my point of view. But you have obviously set some boundaries. Issue 4 for me hit home. Thanks again. At least the feelings I have at times are similar and not unique.
