These are more like cameras that are recognized as cinema lines and aren't as expensive as the rest. Of course these aren't for a single shooter, but honestly they are very cheap when it comes to their functionality. Raw at 4k and built in ND filters alone at the price point of bmpcc 6k pro are a steal.

Very few of them have 10-bit tho But for starters they'll do Ain't no camera out there that records raw for under 1.5k And that is veeeery cheap The cheapest u can find U can also install magic lantern firmware to shoot raw on older dslr canons But u risk ur camera just dying on u on the spot

Man i never understood why i would always get regular cameras when searching for a video recording cam, even nowadays.. I dont want a photo cam, i need a cam for movie-making... never really understood why "movie" cams are like a public secret and literally nobody advertises them. I get that most new regular cams can shoot up to 6k now, but what is the actual difference between that and a cinematic cam...im still confused..

From my understanding (& I'm probably wrong idk) but cinema & professional photography cameras have a larger sensor It's not all about the resolution (or the megapixels, as I once thought) Luckily however there are things you can do if all you have is your phone to record Use an anamorphic lens, polarizer lens, & get a gimbal Not to mention editing & filters Research all this if you're truly serious about it I'm just a student Currently learning all this stuff, so again, I may be wrong on some things here

For starting out your career, Sony FX30 is a pretty safe option. You can also checkout the Panasonic Lumix S5 II-X, and Canon EOS R5C.

It really depends on what you want to achieve in your shooting. Both the Canon cameras point & shot cameras and Sony DSC-HX350 features a smaller sensor, so low light and ISO performance might bother you. But Sony's lens is pretty high-end. Both canon and Sony and has insane optical zooming capability. Canon EOS 4000D would be a good starting point for beginners. Though has an APS-C sensor, which is bigger than the sensors of Canon and Sony cameras, it is really not a sports shooting camera.

I have a bmpcc first Gen I bought it for 400€ on eBay and it has a bunch of problems. For example batteries, focus, low light. But the colors are awesome and you get blackmagic raw. But if you only have 500$ in general i would argue you should invest in sound and shoot on a phone.

Budget? lol Where do you get that from? lol I bought a BMPCC 4K...now that's a budget camera at $1,295. Of course, that was for the body only, which as in these cameras you have here. Once I fully outfitted mine on a full rig, the whole sha-bang cost me close to $2,400.00, but still, at least the main component was cheaper than any of these bodies!

Cinema cameras are generally expensive. You can get Lumix BGH1/BS1H for less than $2000, but you'll need accessories that'll cost you no less than an additional $2500.

Personally I don't think shelling that much money for a camera is justified for most people, even professionals working in the field. If you're not using it day in and day out, just rent. You won't have problems when a certain model becomes obsolete in ten years time, you'll be able to pick the right camera for the job every time and you can bill the client for the rental expense. Purchasing only makes sense for specialty or rare cameras or equipment (es. Phantom) and you'll make the money back by letting other people rent the stuff when you're not using it.
