@@neverbrokeagain191 Its not abt making beginner chess easier. Its about making top-level chess more decisive and exciting. Many endgames like 2 knights and king vs king, king and pawn vs king etc will become wins, hence reducing the number of draws.
@neverbrokeagain1913 ай бұрын
@@ethanlal4517 That would just mean that people have no incentive to fight back. If you know that almost every endgame down 1-2 points of material is completely dead for you, why even try to play on? Draws are not necessarily bad things. There would be far fewer fighting draws where people squeeze a draw out of an inferior position. If you genuinely think that the fact that a scorecard saying 1 instead of 0.5 at the expense of making comebacks far, far, far more uncommon would make the game more exciting then you need to seriously reevaluate why you play this game. A game where somebody is down material but manages to swindle their opponent into only being up a knight with nothing else, giving them a good result in an otherwise hopeless position is far more interesting than watching a king be chased around by a king and knight for thirty moves before awarding one player the full point.

In the world of chess, a rating of 2000 is a significant milestone, often marking the transition from an amateur to a professional level of play. This rating, part of the Elo rating system developed by Arpad Elo, is used to measure the relative skill levels of players. While there are many amateur chess players with ratings below 2000, those who reach or exceed this rating demonstrate a mastery of the game that places them in a higher echelon, worthy of being considered professional. Firstly, achieving a 2000 rating requires a deep understanding of chess fundamentals. Players at this level have a solid grasp of opening theory, middle-game strategies, and endgame techniques. They have studied countless hours, not only playing games but also analyzing them, learning from both their own mistakes and the games of others. This level of dedication and study is characteristic of a professional approach to any discipline. For example, a 2000-rated player will be familiar with a wide range of opening lines and will know how to navigate the complexities that arise from them, often several moves deep into the game. Their understanding of pawn structures, piece coordination, and tactical motifs is far superior to that of an amateur. Moreover, a 2000-rated player has a high level of consistency in their performance. They can reliably compete and hold their own against other strong players, including titled players such as FIDE Masters (FMs) and International Masters (IMs). This consistency is a hallmark of professionalism, as it demonstrates not just talent but also the ability to perform under pressure, adapt to different opponents, and maintain a high level of play over time. Consistency at this level is built through extensive practice, mental fortitude, and a professional approach to preparation and competition. In addition to skill and consistency, a 2000-rated player has likely participated in numerous tournaments, both online and over-the-board. They understand the rigors of competitive play, including the psychological aspects of facing strong opponents, managing time controls, and enduring the physical and mental demands of long games. Their tournament experience provides them with insights into tournament strategies, such as knowing when to play aggressively for a win or when to settle for a draw based on the standings. This strategic awareness is another indicator of their professional level. Furthermore, many 2000-rated players contribute to the chess community in ways that go beyond playing. They often engage in coaching, sharing their knowledge with aspiring players. Their ability to teach complex concepts in an understandable way is a testament to their deep understanding of the game. They may also write articles, create instructional videos, or participate in chess clubs and forums, further solidifying their role as professionals within the chess community. Lastly, the distinction between amateur and professional in chess is not solely based on rating but also on the approach to the game. A 2000-rated player treats chess with the seriousness and respect of a professional sport. They invest in their development, continuously seek to improve, and often have goals that extend beyond casual play. They may aspire to achieve higher titles, such as National Master (NM) or even International Master (IM), and their dedication to these goals is reflective of a professional mindset. In conclusion, a 2000-rated chess player exemplifies many characteristics of a professional. Their deep understanding of the game, consistent performance, tournament experience, contribution to the chess community, and professional approach all set them apart from amateurs. While the journey to higher ratings and titles continues, reaching a 2000 rating is a significant achievement that marks a player as a true professional in the world of chess.

@@The_Croissant I am above 2000 rated myself and I am nothing but a hobby player. We do not earn Money and we consider it a Hobby at best. "Professional" has an actual definition. You can't just make one up yourself. A professional (at anything) is someone who does said thing for a living. At chess that does not start until ~2500 rating. And btw that's not online Rating but Otb. At online rating you would have to be around 2700-2800 minimum to be considered a professional under normal circumstances by definition. The ppl in this Video where about 1500 rated otb. Which is considered beginner lvl on otb tournaments. They are the guys you hope you get matched in the first round for a easy free point. They do not win anything and they do not earn any money. Making the claim that 1500 rated otb is professional is factually incredibly wrong. And 1500 it's also not the point where ppl start to take it seriously as a profession or whatever. That would be around 2300-2400. At least 800 points higher... Also why did you just write 20 pages about how great 2000s are and ignored all my other questions? I am over 2000. I know how I think and what that means. Thanks for the lecture...
