Top 2 won’t happen in the case of the coyotes for multiple reasons. First, the owners of other teams in the surrounding areas won’t agree to it. Second, it would need to be an east team that relocates since I doubt they want to move Detroit back to the west. Third, they want to grow hockey and as much as it would be nice to put the team in a spot where they already have avid hockey fans I don’t see that happening in areas that have other teams in the general geographical area. I’d personally like to see them go to salt lake city or Milwaukee but they will probably end up in Houston

Houston could happen. Dallas is already a West team, Houston could be too and it would flare up a good rivalry in Texas bringing eyes to the product. QC will never happen though. Montreal has an iron grip and complains the the team coming back would cut into montreals profits

As a Habs fan who wouldn't mind another team in my province, I see very little incentive to go to Quebec in the sense that no other team will want to move to the Western Conference. Also Quebec City is a great place to visit, in winter and summer!

Is the delta center /vivint literally currently set for nhl hockey. I’ve been ti jazz games, like 3 in my lyde( I don’t live there) and their seats for ball are amazingly close. Hickey ponds are bigger than a court. Logistically seems hard. Am I off

It was originally built hosting the jazz and the SL Golden eagles (an IHL team) until they disbanded in ‘94. It has hosted several preseason NHL games. Additionally it’s already been stated it would be a temporary home and a franchise would get a dedicated rink within 2-3 years. This rink is a bonus for Utah hosting the 2034 Olympics

Willing owner in Tilman Fertitta, Rockets ower 2. 2.28 million people in the metro area 3. 7.34 million people in greater Houston area 4. 7,000 average attendance for the old AHL Aeros (they moved because previous ower got in a spat with Gary Bettman) 5. Youth hockey program (travel and house) 6. Recreational leagues (would benefit from more rinks that NHL would bring) 7. Massive corporate sponsorship 8. Large population of Northerners will to carry the load until the locals take over. 9. Located in the “West”.

They could play somewhere temporarily. Being in a small but packed arena while waiting for the main one to reopen is a hell of a lot better than playing indefinitely in a 4600 seat building that can't be filled, is 90% opposing fans and the team is likely relocating.

Hartford, Connecticut. They need to resurrect the Whalers! There's already a bid by the governor of Connecticut to bring the Coyotes to Hartford. Whaler Spirit apparently never left since they relocated to Raleigh in 1997. There's still die hard fans there.

DO NOT BRING THEM TO KC. One reason it would be a terrible idea is the market for hockey would not be good if they don’t show result in their first season there. Secondly, Canada needs a new Hockey team. So Halifax, Quebec City, Burnaby, and the hammer are all great places to go because success isn’t a driving factor for long term longevity

I think Halifax could make it happen. The move would be to split the team with Moncton (8-10 games a year in Moncton, rest in Halifax) and market it as an Atlantic or Maritime team, not just Halifax. Could also do the opposite with Quebec City where there's 8-10 games a year in Hali.

As a Saskatoon resident (actually, I live a little bit away), I completely understand. As much as I'd love an NHL team here, I understand we most likely couldn't support for very long. ESPECIALLY if we didn't make playoffs. By the way Saskatoon isn't that great of a city, which is also why no professional hockey player would wanna be traded or drafted here. Anyway. I’m from Saskatoon and although we are passionate about hockey, you’re right, we’re not quite big enough. We’re about a quarter of a million when you add up the surrounding areas but I know this city would be finicky if the team wasn’t winning. We have a NLL team here and when the team is winning it’s all about the Rush but right now not as many are going to games cuz the team is going to rebuild.
