A little more freedom to get things done since she cluster eats at times. I also dont feel comfortable nursing in public, so for when we are out or company i dont want to nurse infront of. There are only a few people i dont mind seeing my breast. And to make night time feeding go a little faster so i can get more sleep and hubby can also feed her too.

And flange sizing i wish MORE woman knew about!! I was using a 24mm a LC told me it wasnright and after doing my own research bc of pain and discomfort while pumping i realized i actually needed a 14mm flange insert!! No pain or discomfort while pumping and i got double the milk out! I tell every mom that says their going to pump to measure their own nipples and how to get the correct size bc its such an important part of pumping!

I'm basically a just-enougher, and I love it. To me, it means my body is responding to my baby exactly how it should. I have a friend who produced so much, she needed to pump every two hours exactly (and would wake in the night to do so), or she would be majorly engorged. Paired with that, her baby had such bad lip and tongue ties, he could not latch, so she was pumping every two hours, getting tons of milk each time (much more than necessary), and spending extra time feeding. I felt so bad for her: she was barely sleeping.

😢so sad that I didn’t see this video sooner and get your help. The anxiety of going back to work as a first time mom has put a damper on my whole journey and experience as a new mother. The key point you made was getting advice from non pumping lactation specialists. It is possible, but depends a lot on what ducts we’re cut and how they healed during surgery. Everyone is different in what they can do after a surgery like this. No reason not to give it a go if you want to though!

I am not able to combine pumping and breastfeeding. Was able to pump milk better few days ago but since 2 days i am not. Breastfeeding is going well but pumping is not. So should i stop pumping? My baby is 4 weeks old now. My goal is to pump to get some rest
@lisagiannoumis3816 Жыл бұрын
Isn't just enough the goal? If you have an oversupply it can be uncomfortable and cause mastitis and other physical problems. I think I'm making maybe a tad more than I need, using it to build a supply for going back to work. I'm happy with that 🤷

Odd question… can I use a hakka to express while breastfeeding simultaneously? My goal is to get my baby used to the bottle so when she is away from me. Will this affect my input/output supply? (I’ll be at work, while dad cares for her).
@NewLittleLife26 күн бұрын
You can! Recommended just a couple times a day to avoid an oversupply, but definitely a great option for some bottle practice.

This is has been such a challenge for me with my 4th i pumped and nursed my 3rd child i had a HUGE stash not bc i needed it for work or anything i was just terrified of not producing enough like with my 2nd child so i nursed and then pumped an hour after nursing, while nursing i also pumped the other side bc i produced enough to fill him up on one side and then let him drain the littke bit left behind on the other breast i was CONSTANTLY either nursing or pumping and it sucked sometimes but then i remembered how important it was for me to breastfeed successfully and that dread or exhaustion went away. And i think thats why we made it to 1 year of nursing! and im glad i did that bc while moving nursing got kinda pusjed aside bc we were on a time crunch and by time we got moved and settledimy milk supply tanked but bc i had all that freezer stash i coyld still gove him breastmilk for months! I wassnt emotionally or mentally prepared to feel the grief and depression that followed after stopping nursing it really hit me hard infelt like i lost a piece of myself. With my 4th im finding it so difficult to pump like i want to its like i cant find the time when hes ALWAYS on the boob 😢 dr says he should be taking about 2-3oz and i collect 2-3oz just with the let down using the hakka but he never empties me and i want to keep my supply up yet i can never pump bc he cried most of the time unless hes on the boob😪

Is it ok to pump one breast while baby feeds on the other? With the pump settings on low. And stop when baby stops her feeding. Because of pain and bleeding to one side. I don’t want to create an oversupply I just want to empty a little bit for comfort. Since it’s very painful the whole time she feeds on that breast.

How would you recommend pumping while your baby is also cluster feeding? I’m doing combined feeding so my husband can give our baby 1-2 bottles at night while I’m sleeping and I feel like I’m attached to our baby or a pump at every single moment! HELP 😭
@NewLittleLife5 ай бұрын
It is tricky when you start looking to pump extra milk during the day and skipping sessions at night. I’m recommend not at the same time hour little one is cluster feeding, ideally you’re still removing milk at night, but otherwise first thing in the morning may be a better time. Depending on how far postpartum you are, be cautious about removing nighttime milk removal. It’s important!

There are many things you can do to help make the transition back and forth easier. Paced bottle feeding is a great place to start. Making sure you protect your milk supply with a pump is also key when bottle feeding.

I always taught u must breastfeed and pump to get super empty during every session.
@NewLittleLife11 ай бұрын
People have fed babies only at the breast with no pumps since the beginning of time! A pump is a great tool when breastfeeding is ineffective or is unavailable to the baby, whether by necessity or choice. A baby is designed to establish and maintain a milk supply by itself if things are going as expected. Does that make sense? Sometimes a pump is needed, but in theory, it is not necessary.
@mkOsBoyd11 ай бұрын
What would you say is a good pumping schedule?

It depends so much on your current milk supply, your breastmilk storage capacity, your goals, and how effectively you are emptying your breasts (via baby or pump). Hi. Thank you so much for this video-I love it. Can you elaborate on what you mean by combining breastfeeding and pumping? Are you saying that Moms should either pump or breastfeed exclusively or that Moms should not pump after they breastfeed the baby (double work)? I mainly pump every 2.5 hrs but sometimes I’ll breastfeed my baby because I want to get the bonding experience and when I do breastfeed, I do not pump for that session but instead I’ll pump again in 1.5-2hrs to make sure I empty out my breasts. Then 2.5 hrs after that, I’ll pump again. Would you mind giving me your opinion on my routine? Thank you again!
@NewLittleLife Жыл бұрын
We see a combination of the two in so many various ways! All are great options, but for each mother/baby it looks different based on their supply, baby’s feeding skills, and their goals. If both breastfeeding and pumping are efficient and effective than your schedule seems good at first glance, but there are so many other factors that go into long term success.
