The Guide elaborates on the techniques used on the show. The examples given in the kzbin.infoUgkxECnmSvBSv_NGWx4_ChD73pF3NYZwI2F3 are helpful and some of the techniques suggested very useful. One such technique/tool suggested was the lure stick to encourage a small dog to keep up with the heel command. I have a small dog who lags behind smelling any and everything and find it hard to keep bending over while walking to his level. The lure stick is great also for another dogs focus and sprinting at anything that catches her eye. The stories about different dogs, their different temperaments, have been helpful, especially Lulu's: After reading about Lulu's challenges I felt relief concerning one of my rescues that I have had for 10 years. Over many years I have checked out many training books from the library, watched different shows, DVDS, bought training books, taken lessons and this book is the best by far! Kindness, patience and perseverance works.

1. Make crate Disneyland - play in/around crate (hide food under bowls) - normalise crate (5 times a day, 5-10 mins) - open and close - feed in crate with slow feeder, door open then slowly close over days - food and groov

Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge. Emily doesn’t have an issue with her crate at bedtime only when I go out. Today I put treats in her crate after breakfast. I put her inside & sat on the floor with the crate door open. She was suspicious at first but then relaxed. I later had to step out. I put her in the crate with treats & walked away. She whimpered a little bit but didn’t frantically bark. I called my son & he said she was calm downstairs in her crate & never cried. I know there’s more practice to do but I’m incredibly impressed how well your advise works. More comments to come in your other videos. Can we send pics? Would love to show off my baby girl. She’s a Maltese/Havanese mix.

@@laurenhudson1194 no, he’s a mutt. He was the 1st one to leave his litter/mom so perhaps related to that? I don’t know for sure but he’s super attached. We have also been experiencing a major crisis in the family so maybe he’s responding to that. For now we use a combo of daycare or grandparent sitting with him if we need to leave. If we try the crate for even 10mins without us here and then try again then next day he’ll run and hide so it’s impossible to be consistent. He is fine in there if we are home with him
