What about the glucose uptake? I heard veggies first because the enzymes help coat the gut and slow glucose absorption.

Consistent resistance training coupled with eating more protein is the best way to redistribute body composition from fat to lean muscle.

Protein and water ones really do help with satisfying. They help one become more aware of the difference between emotional hunger and physical hunger.

I’m hearing to eat protein first from some and veggies first from others. It’s hard to know what to do because it seems like there are good reasons for both!

One thing that hasn't been addressed in depth but is so relevant to this conversation is stress. There's a nod given to it, but in a world where stress is ubiquitous and crap food is as well, that's a combo that guarantees the development of obesity. This is especially insidious during peri and post menopause. There needs to be more than "do yoga, meditate, go to sleep early." People are in life circumstances that are unavoidable such as special needs children or caring for aging parents while having to work, poverty, abusive relationships, unresolved trauma, wage slavery, etc. One thing that is irritating about a lot of "health" content put out by wealthy influencers is that their own lives are buffered by money and social status, thus removing a massive source of stress for the majority of people. It's all just a little tedious after awhile. What we need is real solutions for unavoidable stress. I'm thinking about creating content on that.

Hi! I'm relatively new to your content, but I love it. You might already have covered these in your videos, but I wonder what your daily workout routine is to get so much defined lean muscle. Do you lift heavy? HIIT? I know much of it is "made on the kitchen," but I think I am dialed in on that. Thanks! 🙂

I know that logging food correctly works and that once you notice it working and in the early days/weeks/months it is exhilarating. However, for me, in the long run (and by long run I mean on and off for DECADES), it became absolutely soul-sucking. After over four decades of dieting, I can track now for brief periods for a specific, limited reason. I mean a few days. Any more than this makes me bat-sh*t-crazy. BTW, I'm not suggesting that this advice does not work or should be ignored. Just sharing my experience.

Just eat a little bit of whatever you want u feel for a piece of chocolate eat a little piece do some walking it helps we still all have to die one day so don’t deprive yourself of eating a little piece of cake

How much free time do you have on hand to walk 12,000 steps in a day! I get about 4,000 steps in a day and my knees hurt me at night. I can’t imagine the time it would take to walk 12,000 steps😫 I’m getting discouraged.

I decided ages ago to live without a car as I'm in Rome and there is public transportation anytime and I use my legs to move ending up with 15/20000 steps a day. You don't have to do this much but just improve a bit for instance taking steps instead of the elevator or just walking a bit more. Anyone has his own limits to improve. Just be the best version of yourself! 😊

Try not to be too discouraged. I don't know what is wrong with your knees, but when my knees got bad, my orthopedic surgeon started giving me gel injections into both knees every six months. These were NOT cortisone injections. The gel replaced the cartlidge that was missing (I was bone-on-bone). Eventually, I had both knees and both hips replaced, but the gel helped put off the surgery for three years. FYI, I only go it in the knees; insurance wouldn't pay for the hips.

I used to think the same thing- how will I ever find the time to get that many steps in. Then I started looking at how much time I spent on my phone- social media-tv- KZbin. All big time and energy wasters. You were on KZbin watching this video- how much more time did you spend on videos that you could have been walking? No shade being thrown your way just a suggestion on looking at where you spend your time

It doesn’t take as long as you think. I just walked 10 minutes on the treadmill and got over 1000 steps. It’s not about the “free time” you have, it’s using your time wisely. Don’t be discouraged. You can do it

Excuse my terrible ignorance here but every time I eat protein, drink water and I weigh myself next day I am heavier. Gut instinct tells me there may be too much said about protein. I exercise, I’m 50 and weight gain. My best was when I didn’t eat cooked meals-had canned salmon sandwich , 1 egg fruit, tea and cookie. Then got married, no kids made meals and gained weight just like that.

Are you doing resistance training exercise? I’m 51 and started eating more protein in January with a calorie deficit and lost 9 lbs. but this has been with the hard work of resistance training. Then I went on a plateau and one of the trainers at the gym that I go to said to increase my calories (needs to be quality calories) and increase my protein. Also to eat carbs (fruits and vegetables). So I did that just a little and lost another pound in a week.
