I feel this line of thinking is valuable to any organization, however the bland reality is that most problems arise from people wanting more money and/or more status within the hierarchy. Once a person's life has normalized to whatever their wage and status in the company is (regardless of how low or high they happen to be), their brains stop producing dopamine and negative thoughts, boredom and disdain for their environment etc. will begin to arise regardless of team social dynamics. Team social dynamics can mitigate it to an extent, but humans need to feel Pride in what they do and how much money they make.

This! At my company the CEO uses books like this as an excuse to avoid paying people more. Some people are really unhappy and causing problems but at bottom it's because they have been working there for years and haven't had a raise even though they work constantly. The CEO just points us to a book and sais "you aren't quite there yet, you need to read this". But it's really a deflection mechanism to change the topic away from offering a higher wage. As his expectations continually rise of course.
