I'm a venezuelan with italian roots watching a video of a japanese lady making japanese breakfasts in Spain while I also live in Spain. What a time to be alive. I'll try all of these breakfats, they look great :)

The simplicity yet good quality of the meals is what makes this video stand out.

I was living in a guesthouse in Saitama a few years back and I remember getting up in the morning to make breakfast for myself. There was a Japanese girl staying in the same house and I would always watch her cook herself an entire meal for breakfast every morning, even on the days when she was working. This video reminded me of her. I'm too lazy to cook that much food in the morning and I probably wouldn't be able to eat it all anyway (some coffee or toast is enough for me, otherwise I get nauseas for some reason), but it looks delicious! I might try making it for lunch instead.^^

Thank you for the comment 💓 I also used to live with international friends in Japan when I was younger, and they always asked me why I can eat so much in early morning 🤣

Three take aways from this video: 1) I really need to buy some bonito powder, it is used for everything 2) you somehow manage to find green onions in Spain, thats a mystery I'd like to solve (I live in Spain and I don't find it usually) 3) loved the content, subscribed and I am going to binge watch this channel right now :) Thanks for sharing

If you hit the jackpot and find green onions with the roots still attached, cut off the bottoms - leave them about 4cm long - and plant the roots in soil, in a pot or in the garden. (If the roots are a bit dry soak them in water overnight before planting). They will regrow and you can keep snipping off the outer leaves as you need them. If you want the white part too, just cut it off a few centimeters above the soil so it can grow again. I did this with a bunch bought well over 6 months ago and they're still going strong! I've planted them in a pot right near the kitchen so I use them A LOT - and haven't had to spend money buying more. Hope this helps - your climate in Spain would be similar to ours here in Australia! Cheers!!

I have seen bonito flakes in stores and I wonder if I could substitute those for the powder?
@andersonomo5972 жыл бұрын
@@lmnop29 No, sorry, but the powder is basically a powdered soup stock (dashi) made with bonito, kelp and other ingredients, so it's like substituting chicken meat for chicken stock - different thing with a different purpose. If you can get bonito flakes you'll be able to get the stock powder - just look for 'dashi powder'. It usually comes in a little flat box about the size of an adult hand, often with red and blue graphics - don't know why but that what I've noticed. Hope this helps!!

I love watching this video while eating my own Japanese breakfast. Being an American, the concept of eating rice and soup in the morning took some getting used to, but I love it. I typically eat miso soup, rice topped with natto, some veggies and fruit on the side, and if I'm out of natto, I like tamagoyaki. Took me lots of practice to make that too, lol! The extra prep for these breakfasts are well worth it. They keep me full for hours, unlike my old bowl of cereal.

So I'm from the Netherlands and love to cook. However this video reminded me of how lazy Dutch people can be, because breakfast like this would be considered as dinner here! Everyone just gets two slices of bread with peanut butter and that's it lol. Even my stepmum told me that when I made a sandwhich with chicken and egg, it was considered too much and I should just settle for something 'simpler' next time. I can't wait to try these recipes out though, thank you so much!
@byggrynsgroet2 жыл бұрын
dont listen to your stepmother! if an egg sandwich gets you out of bed in the morning then thats completely fine, it doesnt hurt anyone! norway is the same sad situation; a couple slices of dry bread with brown cheese or something and we're out the door. but as a raging night owl (lol im writing this out at 03:46) i need something to look forward to in the morning, and a good filling breakfast does just the trick🤤
