I have a 2018 R1 in black. I will be interested to see how you like the new wind screen since I was thinking about getting the same one. Only think I don't like about the new gas cap is that now it isn't tethered and I think it would get kind of annoying set it down somewhere instead of just flipping it up out of the way like the stock one.

Look into rhinomoto for bar end that create a slot for the arrow mirrors. It’s what I use for my R6. Might be the same. Also I believe they have block off plates for the rear pegs. Or at least hooks that cover the holes.

For those bar ends I cut the adapter so that it was flat and could sit flush against the end of the bar without having to modify the bike. Easy peasy.

You can drill the end of the bars it’s just a small gap so if you ever went down the throttle couldn’t get pinned wide open

I know this is old, but you are supposed to remove the entire front fairing to remove the windscreen. Take off the two closeout panels on either side of the gauge cluster (2 bolts, 2 quick rivets), remove 4 nuts for the mirrors, remove the two bolts holding on the front fairing, and slide the whole piece forward.

Check out Rhinomoto, they have bar ends that screw directly into factory bar weights. Not sure if they have them for the R1 but it's worth a look. I have them on my mt-07 and it works like a charm. They look really good as well.

Bro, just get those cheap garden snake lights. Two sets of those and my garage is Brighter than the sun. I was able to do the engine swap on my ducati without really needing to use flashlights all that often. At work I've got a light in my mouth 24/7

I swapped out my lights with some 3 panel led things that are super bright. Not as bright as the tubes that I had in my old garage though. But I’m going to be doing a better light setup in this one. Ceiling lights can’t do what a video light can though. The video light isn’t for filling my garage like the sun haha. It’s for targeted lighting and talking head portions of stationary videos. I just wanted to show it 😉

99% sure you will do LightTech levers and Austin Racing exhaust or Leo Vince... also put a tank pad on it, so easy to scratch the tank

@@h2oFun oh well looking at them I'm 99.9999999999% sure it's the dark. If you look in the video and look at the smoked on the website there's a huge difference. The dark seems to be equally translucent on the site and in the video

The exhaust heat shield on the bottom is terrible. Don't know why Yamaha made it silver on a black bike. I ended up powder coating mine in a high heat ceramic black.

Love your videos. Quick question btw. I am planning to buy an R1 in less than a month. Probably the 2015 due to shit customs and duty system in my country, it would run me around $30k after all the clearance. I’ve never driven one before and a couple of guys told me that 2015 also has heating issues. I know that 14 and old models had some sort of heating issues, I’ve also seen those bikes with those issues and since I am investing a life time of saving to get this dream bike of mine, I wanted to have an expert opinion. So i am asking you to advise about the 15 R1. Is that bike good? Any heating problems ?

You don't have anything to worry about. They ARE hot, but not to the detriment of the bike.

My guy said that the heating issue arises when you replace the original battery with the aftermarket one and it can’t keep the radiators up. Ive been thinking about getting an r1, i have an 06 R6 right now and im considering selling it and buying a 2015+ r1 since it has rider modes and everything so i can dumb it down. I also sold my dirt bike recently so i have quite a bit of money saved up. What do you think R1 at 16? Or keep my r6?
