Thanks, Tim! I think the first step is to know WHY you are a good teacher. Some people say the “niche” is important, but I think it is simpler than that. Once you have your niche (or what you want to teach) if you don’t know WHY you are good at teaching in that genre, it is so hard to convince parents. That’s why referrals work: your current parents think you are good and they know why. They market you informally to other parents.

Great episode. I've recently been considering creating a lead magnet in order to build an email list. I've created a new Facebook page and I'm going to ask my students to like and share but all my students are Vietnamese and I've noticed their parents primary communication tool is Facebook and not email. (Zalo isn't accessible through South Africa). Would I nurture and market to them via Facebook DM's? A little confusing. Thank you Tim

You can give a free class in exchange, sure. Best way is to give them something to share like an image or something like that on social media.

Yes, I use Classin to teach on and schedule their classes on Classin. I don't automate bookings. I just schedule their class each week.
