Awesomeness! Your tips and suggestions here are on point. May 4th of this year made a year that I have ditched the dye. It kinda was a happy accident. I was a hair model for a friend who was interning at Quidad (high-end) hair salon in New York, as she was learning their cutting technique. While cutting my hair I had so much dye, products layered on that the over-processed sections detached from the dye-free new growth in droves. She actually had to call over the master haircutter there to assist in what to do. Long story short once she finished cutting she shampooed, deep-conditioned, and literally curled it with her fingers using very little styling product. I left that salon that day feeling lighter, and freer than I had and never looked back. The only regret I had was that I didn't ditch the dye sooner. Anyway, Ty for sharing your advice and inspiration on rocking this GH journey experience. I'm honored to be in this space.👍🏾😉💜

Thank you so much for your great tips on looking youthful and vibrant with silver hair! It's something I'm still struggling with after growing my dark dyed hair out during the pandemic. It's now very much like your color and length. You're 100% right about colors that used to look good no longer suiting us. Jewel tones look great but beiges and gold tones are drab, so I no longer wear certain clothes that used to look great with dark brown hair.

Color my brows and always will because i feel they frame the eyes. I keep my nails well manicured my teeth white. I want to look purposeful about my look and it seems to work!

I really agree with you - filling in my brows is crucial. With my grey hair, I look completely washed out without them!

I'm an inch into going gray and I'm struggling with old woman looking back at me in mirror. Lol. I haven't felt that way until now. I'm keeping it up but it's not easy right now.

I wore bandanas until my hair grew past the over due for a dye look. Once it was obviously intentional I took the bandanas off for good. That may help . Also, remember you are going to be an inspiration to other women. I had at least 3 women at work and one at church follow after me. I'm 4 years in and have never regretted it. I never really felt embarrassed,but kind of rebellious honestly.

Hi Katie, Loved this video -so helpful and interesting as always! I just bought two more brimmed summer hats at Marshall’s -a NYC discount store-a white Adidas and dark tan straw Banana Boat brand. Two more hat looks so that no matter what I wear I’ll have an attractive brimmed hat that goes with the outfit. Hats, along with moisturizer and SPF, are the best ways to keep your face looking healthy and more youthful. Looking forward to your eyebrows video! Have a great week, Katie! 💕 🌸 😊

Your hair is stunning and you look young, vibrant. I don't know why women are so afraid of going grey. You're right when you own it, its magic. 😊

Thanks! If people would just really look at gray hair objectively (as another color, not a marker of old age) I think they'd see the beauty. It's a mindset shift for sure!

I loved your video. I have made the decision to go gray so I'm saying goodbye to my long life of colored hair. I will be growing it out, however I'll be having my hairdresser go through some stages to quicken up the process. Don't think I can tolerate the skunk stripe. I had to tell you that while watching you, you reminded me so much of Karen Grassle from Little House on the Prairie (looks and voice). Wonder if anyone ever told you that. :)

So glad you loved the video! I've heard that about Karen Grassle but I can't see it - but I take it as a compliment in any case as I love Little House on the Prairie. I just Allison Arngrim's (Nellie's) one-woman show last weekend - it was a blast!

For me, the dyed hair was looking harsh. I think the dark hair was showing the lines. I was 54 and was all the way grey and wasnt fooling anyone. I got a new nickname, the snow queen.

I'm thinking about having my color stripped, so all my white and grey will show. Thoughts? Anyone? Thank you! ❤🎉
@KatieGoesPlatinum10 ай бұрын
It doesn't work that way, unfortunately, If you strip your hair, it won't magically uncover the gray or white beneath it. It can also be quite damaging, so it's better to either grow the dye out or cut it off. If your hair is healthy, and neither of those options appeals to you, find a reputable stylist who can assess your hair to see if it can withstand the rigors of a salon transition and go that route (some women have great results!)

For what it's worth i feel old and i'm 24 going on 25 and i look and act my age. Age is in the head and i am uncomfortable with where i am in life in correlation to what i think of myself and others around me
@KatieGoesPlatinum Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. I had those feelings more when I was younger, if you can believe it. It gets easier as you actually get older and care less what others think about your choices. ❤

grey hair does not mean old, but it makes you look 20 years older
@KatieGoesPlatinum5 ай бұрын
I couldn’t disagree more.
@kathya1956 Жыл бұрын
Could we just admit gray hair makes you look older? So what? Focus on other things to reverse the clock. Wardrobe, gain some muscle and lean up.
@KatieGoesPlatinum Жыл бұрын
Let’s agree to disagree - I think it’s completely subjective. Personally, I do not think it makes you look older. I think the state of your skin, your wardrobe, and your attitude has more to do with whether you’ll be perceived as older or not.
@danielracovitan97795 ай бұрын
@@KatieGoesPlatinum it is easy to test ; people will evaluate your age 15-20 years older if you sport grey hair
