What a peaceful home you have! I agree, especially about natural materials in the home. They have a totally different energy than plastics, MDF, polyesters, etc.

Because of asthma, I store almost everthing away. I only display a few items at a time that are easy to clean in the kitchen sink. I rotate display items on 2 narrow shelves over my kitchen windows.

I enjoy pops of color but I also added a bit more color in my parlor with a beautiful rug and an art piece. It was all based around that piece of art that I could not do without, Lol. I do like the natural elements in a home though. They ground the home and make it feel strong, yet comfortable ❤

Thank you , I do enjoy your videos so much . I'm living at home with my mom , dad and brother . My parents are older and need care , my kids are adults and no longer need me . So, I'm at home with them . The house is looking less cluttered and cared for in comparison to what it was once . I get overwhelmed st times , because there is just so much stuff . Unfortunately, the dusting is the hardest thing for me . I try , but it seems I can never quite tackle all of it since there are other priorities that take presidence . I'm going to do a little everyday so it doesn't get overwhelming for me . Thanks again for the ideas you share on your channel , I appreciate them very much . Have an amazing Summer 2019. Much love to you :D .

Ah thanks so much for the lovely compliment. It means a lot and you are very kind. Anywhere along the coast is beautiful in Ireland. the west coast is more wild and the east coast more sunny. The west of Ireland is also more natural and traditional than the east. Cork, Kerry and Clare are great counties and where I live in Wicklow is wonderful. If you need any more help when you are visiting let me know. email me at niamhtraynor@gmail.com or chat on dm on Instagram and I'll help.

@@FairylandCottage If you have a decent sized Rosemary bush, one traditional way to polish wood is to rub it with handfuls of Rosemary sprigs. The natural oils help to polish the wood & make it fragrant. I imagine Lavender would work too. You could rub the wood with the end of a softish beeswax candle or bar before you use the plant on it for a bit of extra polish.

If I keep constantly putting things away I'll spend a huge chunk of my life on taking them out! I love my piles of books, notebooks, my favourite magazines, games and bits and! pieces as they keep me thinking and inspire me to do things when life is hard. Would you make a video on how to wrap the sage and burn it for essence in the home?

that's a lovely suggestion. I have no more left for this year but I'm always growing so I should have more for next year.

Pine cones are highly flammable due to the natural oils in them (as are holly & ivy for the same reason)! Not a good idea around candles & also not good to decorate around your fireplace. Someone I know did that & there was a housefire as a result. If you use them to decorate your empty grate in summer make sure everyone in the house knows they have to be put away before a fire is layed.

@@FairylandCottage I love how organised & clear your house looks it has a lovely relaxing feel to it.. I am a terrible clutterer but it is partly because I have CFS badly & whenever I start sorting things out, I get too exhausted to complete the job. Still I keep trying. Will be getting rid of 100 things this month as part of my efforts. I list each thing I clear out & reward myself when I acheive a goal. Its more fun that way. This months reward will probably be a relaxing swim or possibly a massage.

Did you make the oil you used on your table? If so, please share the recipe. I live on a sailboat, therefore, the more natural and least packaging is best for us. Thank you.

Sailor Girl wow lovely to live on a sailboat. The oil is pure linseed oil I bought it in the supermarket in a glass bottle. You could make your own by soaking whole flaxseed overnight and using the gloopy stuff that is extracted. X
