refreshing to see a presentation which doesn't bring out some "oh, Israel's system is a mess, why can't we have 2 parties!!!"" or "it's too comlicated, don't worry your little heads about this system". Israel's political system is fractuous, but so is the nation and, it seems to be doing quite well - better than the USA or UK system. The only change I'd suggest is raising the threshold to 5% of the national vote before a party can get a seat. Within context of Israel that'd recognise the diversity of views, communities, minorities and usual left right split but would force some parties based on the egos of some politicians of the need to compromise.

For instance in the legislative elections for the 25 Knesset both "Balad" and "The Jewish home" are straggling with the threshold in the polls, Do you really think that an Internationalist and anti-zionist party would end up teaming up with a far-right religious-zionist and an ultranationalist party ?

It's funny but in most of Israel all those terms that you just mentioned is totally unrecognizable because most Israeli Jews are Middle Eastern Jews and they don't speak Yiddish and they certainly don't follow the cultural tenants so long recognized in American Jewry you need to switch out a busy afternoon at the Falafel stand we don't have a concept of a fierce grandmother in Israel I don't know maybe a fierce Market seller and I don't soccer fans yes Israel is not American Jury a lot of people are so shocked we don't have Bagels we don't have lox we have shawarma and Falafel amongst other Middle Eastern dishes

Actually before making peace with the people that clearly in every poll say that they want to totally destroy us perhaps we should consider that a little bit more American Jews simply don't understand the reality in Israel I speak fluent Arabic and fluent Hebrew I have friends on both sides and I can tell you that the amount of Islamic Fundamentalist radicalization in the Palestinian community in the territories and in Israel is getting more and more worrisome and is increasing exponentially meaning there is no inclination whatsoever to accept any Jewish presence in the land much less accepting living by a sovereign Jewish State Side by Side it goes against the tenants of Islamic fundamentalism that is now prevalent and ubiquitous throughout the Palestinian community I read the books newspapers here are the radio watch the TV programs and hear the lectures of the preachers and the mosques I know what they say

The main reason is Netanyahu putting his own pursuit of power about what is good for Israel and mimicking this mentality of autocracy and populism in other countries. Other leaders from Begin, Golda Meir, and Rabin resigned and didn't play professional victimhood as Netanyahu does which is very bad for Israel. Me is imitating Trump and others who feel they are more important then anyone else and this is a very bad mentality that only "they" can "save" the country. No different then men who think they have a unique to "save women" they usually actually have contempt for women and are only manipulating them. Same here. If Netanyahu would leave politics it would be better for Israel and let someone else lead Likud as Begin did when he felt he can no longer lead. He saw Israel bigger then himself. But I know. The Netanyahu family didn't like Begin . In fact while they may have a different type of government Israel is being influenced by the illiberal forces in the USA and in Europe which is a tragedy because they at the core hate Jews as they hate all minorities who aren't European Christians.

"Zionism has always been a democratic movement" that's quite the statement juxtaposed to the forced relocation of Palestinian settlements and high barriers of entry to get representation in the Israeli Government. Zionism achieves the same ideologies of the Third Reich in establishing an ethnocratic state.

No it was definitely not better under the ottomans. Pure democracy is to allow children to dictate the rules of the house to their own parents. It's unnatural and doomed to destruction from within through competing factions using violence and deception to get their own way. When rebellious children run Gods house, mankind devolves.

@@khalidalali186 Though the U.S. was organized as a Democratic Republic essentially meaning that the elected representatives would be serving the spirit of law for the best interests of the people they serve as leaders, for the most part they have ensconced an established bureaucracy (swamp) which serves their own interests first and Globalist elitists (from which we had once declared independence) who often groom them, and they divide their constituents like abusive parents to direct them grudgingly to do their will which often means raising an entire underclass of dependents on the largesse of government programs and perks who will do the bidding of their masters. So it appears to be pure Democracy of the masses of dependent mind slaves running the ship but is far more sinister in the nature of its treachery.

Totally agree with everything you wrote down. It’s a sad state for representative democracy, and don’t get me started on the legalized bribes on K Street, them lobbyists are like mafia enforcers, that remind those useless figureheads who’s boss all the time, and how much they owe the people that bribed them into office, by financing their campaigns. You have to admire how they sinisterly distract the multitudes with popular culture, an immoral way of life, alcohol, drugs, nightlife, and loose sex. They literally subsidize producing more and more social parasites. So they can be more relevant to everyday life, and create masses of dependents as you said. Which defeats the purpose of what America was.

I believe the governmental system in Israel is flawed. Too many parties with different opinions and agendas trying to form a stable government is a recipe for a disaster. The best way is to have a 2 party system much like in the U.S, which will unite the respective parties. Having 4 right wing parties and 3 left wing parties fighting each other makes no sense, especially in times where Israel needs stability more than ever.
