On racing lawnmowers we leave the governor in it and just over ride the linkage going off governor linkage. This way it will idle real smooth or you can set it to a high idle so power doesn't completely drop out going into a corner or go to low in RPMs when coming out of the corner.

Hi I was wondering if it's possible to get a 420 motor to do a consistent 55mph for about a 10 miles drive. If so what stage kit , sprockets, and drive would I need to do so. I'm trying to stay with a single piston motor. Im thinking it would be better to use a pit bike motor with a big bore kit. What is you opinions thanks for your time and reply.👍👌✌️😎. PS Im about 155 pounds and it would be a mini bike build.

I've been scouring google and can't find an answer anywhere, why do predator and other mower style engines have such low power compared to other small engines. For example my old 2000 Yamaha ttr 125 makes 17.81 hp and 11.7fp but a predator 212 only makes 6.5hp and 8.1fp. And my 1981 honda 450 street bike made over 30hp but a predator 420 only makes 13hp. What's with this? someone answer this question PLEASE!
@fordman74794 жыл бұрын
@@NckGarage the crazy thing i don't get is they make way less torque too, and I've noticed they can be upgraded to make about as much horsepower and torque as an equivalent atv engine but then they get way worse mpg than an equivalent atv engine. Such a mystery.
@fordman74794 жыл бұрын
@@NckGarage and on top of that it would be a stock atv engine vs an upgraded mower style engine so once you upgrade the atv engine it be back to being more powerful for lass displacement. I guess it boils down to design like you was saying. Atv companies have been perfecting their engines for a long time to make more and more power, but mower style engines probably haven't had much reason to sense they are primarily used for low speed utility work.

Side cover is 22 inch pounds. I use my milwaukee cordless to snug up then throw the familiar 10mm socket on my cheap harbor freight in/lb torque wrench with 1/4 drive. Then figure out an even pattern and tighten side cover without using the grunt method. I dont mind that method im just saying if i save the original gasket i coat it ever so lightly with grease on the side it didnt stick to. Torque even with torque wrench to 22in/lbs and you can pull that side cover 15 times with same gasket. Edit: 5 seconds improvement is Huge. Y'all who have not done these simple mods yet Will be pleasantly suprised

Hello my name is Evan, I got a question for you guy cars andcameras ok me and my dad have been building a lawn kart over the past 3 weeks it has a brand new motor and brand new everything besides the wheels and frame , we have came over lots of little problems with the go kart and fixed the over time easily but we have a problem straight from the start with the chain falling off we have tried relining the engine multiple times and checking over and over again to make sure it the sprocket is perfectly lined up with the clutch and everything looks straight but it keeps falling off randomly. The only reason that it might be is it might have a bent sprocket but besides that it is very annoying. please help me with a reply or make a video on how I can fix it because I have watch lots of videos and none of them worked

Have you guys found the stock JF200 motor to make a lot of valve noise? Also the connecting rod has a lot of side to side action leading to some weird noises when accelerating or decelerating. Is this by design or did I get a bum engine? Is it the governor gear making all the whining? I've gone through my entire motor, I have the governor still in on setting 4 and stage 1 set up. I added 18# springs and removed them again to see if it made a difference, the motor seems to like the stock springs better but even after lashing over and over I'm getting lots of valve/engine noise. Would a 6 degree key cause premature detonation? I'm referring to the HiangDong on the Trailmaster.
