Astronomers mainly prefer red light apart from laser pointers which are green.I have two a red and green one and the red one hardly shows at all but the green one does.I don't have a blue one so I can't say how well they show.

about the laser pointer, they may be illegal in your area and always make sure there are no aircraft nearby

Tips for staying warm: wear BELT on trousers. Tuck your shirt in. Ensure your coat is longer than waist length. Fasten your coat. Have a hot water bottle (covered) placed over your heart. Use disposable 10hr ‘hand warmer’ sachets….but NOT on your hands! Put them over your kidneys and liver, with a base layer in between.
