Hi, well the savings are amazing. The problem is that I didn't want them before but do now. So I am actually spending more than I was before watching your reviews. I do have several bits and the quality is amazing. What should be square is, what should be accurate is. Certainly can't justify Woodpecker prices. One question, on the set square with the marking holes on. They are very small, what do you use that goes through to mark work.? Keep up the great work.

Good review and recommendation, much appreciate the effort you put in to helping others. I have bought a number of Banggood products and so far had great service also they have great value sales which are worth taking advantage of. Hooked on Wood channel has been doing reviews of Banggood for a few years and go's into a lot of detail and comparison.

As a newbie I’m thankful for you showing this but I must say I personally do not buy anything from China cheap or not, some things you’ve shown are indeed good things but I feel we can be a little more “local” with our buying and still save Pennie’s, thank you for you suggestions and effort , sub from me

Great Vid. I started off wanting to buy from Woodpecker. However, they can’t really be interested in anything other than their domestic market, as the cost of postage is outrageous. To Australia the postage is usually more expensive than the tool. Postage costs are usually way over US$100 for the cheapest mail option. That’s not so for many other American suppliers I’ve bought from. By contrast Banggood often charge US$5 or less. Then theres the issue of “the one off tool”. Don’t get me started on what I think to that! Or the pre order for shipping in six months from now. So when you make the comparison, taking into account cost plus postage plus availability plus wait time, it’s a no brainer. BTW those t squares do come in two parts.

Thank you. You make very good points! I had this when buying the super fence, I think £120 then I got hit with £100 import charge too! Yep I remember now having to put the t squares together. Great tools though arnt they for the money!

It's not Woodpeckers that determines shipping costs, it's obviously the shipping carriers. Shipping to Australia has always been a bit ridiculous. I once sold a set of bicycle wheels to someone in Australia about 15 years ago, and the CHEAPEST option (U.S. Postal Service) was over $600 to ship. I think UPS or FedEx were well over $900 (and I think one of them wouldn't ship, I can't remember exactly). The best part was when the guy wasn't home to accept the shipment (the local mail service only tried delivering once), and then one day the box ends up back at my house. I was like wtf - and the guy had to pay another $600+ to get it shipped to him again. He paid more in shipping than for the actual wheels if I remember right. As far as the "one off" tools, limited availability and such, Woodpeckers is not a massive facility/manufacturer, so they have a smaller level of production than some gigantic factory in China that's pumping out items on a much larger scale. I own several items from Woodpeckers, but there are also plenty that I either don't need, wouldn't have a need for, or wouldn't pay for. But, the quality is there, and if there are any issues, they get resolved quickly. As the saying goes, more often than not, you get what you pay for. I've bought plenty of cheap Chinese crap that is just that.....crap. And on the flip side of that, I've also bought some stuff that's actually been pretty decent. With the Chinese stuff, it tends to be hit or miss....and more often a miss, but once in awhile you can find some hidden gems.

@@drouleau It’s still up to woodpecker to find a cheaper delivery service. For example, twice now I’ve ordered from Katz-Moses in the USA. He has a blanket International delivery fee of $15. His turn over would be tiny by comparison. If he can do it, so could Woodpecker.
@drouleau
@drouleau Жыл бұрын
@@howardbecdove9780 Here in the U.S., the three main players are UPS, USPS, and FedEx (Woodpeckers uses UPS). Then for smaller outfits, there's DHL, OnTrac, etc. As the world has grown more and more greedy, so have shipping rates. I sent an average size/very light weight package across the country last month, cost me $52 for the cheapest ground option I could get via UPS. That was crazy. I believe JKM ships via USPS if I remember from packages I've received from him (not to mention most of his items are typically way smaller regarding packaging), which as you'll note from my first reply, is cheaper than UPS and FedEx. Perhaps inquire to Woodpeckers as to why they don't offer this delivery service to international customers, since USPS is generally less expensive and the others are prohibitively expensive?
@howardbecdove9780
@howardbecdove9780 Жыл бұрын
@@drouleau yes, I have no idea why the US postal system is so much more expensive than the rest of the world. The size of packaging makes no difference though with Woodpeckers. I tried to order the tiny poalini square - No! couldn’t even do that without charging more than the cost of the tool. By contrast the router base and accessories, plus the reasonably weighty sliding stop Block will be on its way for $15 from Katz-Moses. I guess I’ll just have to wait for Bangood to copy the Poalini. 🤭

Appreciate these roundup videos, thanks for that. Are the replacement blades on the chamfer plane relatively universal or are you tied to hongdui/banggood for replacements in the future?

Thanks and no problem 👍 Tbh I'm not sure, they look pretty standard, not sure if woodpeckers does a version of this plane. If they do I'm sure there will be spares available in lots of places👍
