Had I been the father, clearly convinced of the doctor's guilt, he'd have received a very different justice in that forest where he was left.

Should do a little bit more research. There was social media in 1996. Just because it's not commonly known of today and you can name one of the big known ones does it mean there was none. There's probably social media companies out there right now that you and I have no idea exist. There's more there than just the giant corporations. People don't seem to expand on things very much and then we miss out because you know someone sells you something shiny can we fix it on that. We missed whatever else there may be to see.
@RR64434
@RR64434 Ай бұрын
@@WayneBraack What social media was there? I was in my mid 20’s then. If there was social media I would have been aware of it. If you’re trying to use a random theory about unknown social media of today to justify that there was social media in 1996 then maybe you should be the one to do more research.
@WayneBraack
@WayneBraack Ай бұрын
@@RR64434 You like to assume perhaps? You think because you were 20 something and had internet you know it all? Are you a historian of some type? Bulletin Board System (BBS) One of the earliest forms of social media, BBSs were popular in the 1980s and 1990s. FidoNet, invented in 1984, allowed BBSs to exchange email internationally. AOL had thing up in the mid 80's. The internet existed LONG before it became a consumer product. I used to socialize in MUDDs. I'm a RPG player. I was in the USAF when I found they existed. Of course things change and grow and become something other than where they started. NO we had no Twitter or dating sites but things were out there. It's possible the article is using "social media" as a blanket coverage term because it's how we say and see it today. It wasn't always as it is now and will become something else in time. Changes aren't permanent but change is - Rush.

There is no perfect justice in the world of men. A couple years ago I finally read Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo. I knew the story, but reading the novel is different. Movies present it as a revenge-tragedy, but anyone who reads the novel knows that it is much more than that. It shows how complicated and flawed justice is in the world of men. In the natural world outside of civilization, there is no justice--there is only nature. The need for justice is present in us by design. And though we see miscarriages of justice and punishments that are not enough or are too much or are withheld completely in the courts of man, there will be justice in the end. Man as a judge is quite imperfect, as are the courts and governments of man also, but God is perfect and knows all things, so there will be justice in the end. Yet He is also merciful, and while we reap what we sow in this life, those who plead with Him for mercy, and turn away from doing again what they have done, will receive mercy in the life to come. And though we see the liar and the murderer as being very different, and though the reaping for these two things is indeed different, both are sin, and both are forgivable sins. The doctor who did what he did to that girl deserves far worse than what he got. And if he was willing to do that to another, even to a young girl, he probably won't be talking to God, so if anyone wants hell for him, he'll probably get it. Dumas covers this also in his novel--the difference between man's justice and God's. Despite the parts about 19th century French politics, which are a challenge for even those with the highest tolerance for boredom, it is well worth the time, as it covers the matter of justice far better than any writers do today.
