I like how these were pretty sandbag specific exercises, I've seen a ton of videos on sandbag exercises that were full of things like "sandbag row" or "sandbag curl" or my personal favorite "sandbag deadlift"
@joejoelesh11975 жыл бұрын
YES!!! Why use a sandbag when a bar would work better or just as well while being easier (less mess, changeable weight). This video shows so real sandbag exercise.
@jasminemora68692 жыл бұрын
better to have one equipment over a bar, weights, more shtuff and so on. I just hve a sandbag and that’s enough for full body lmao. Also more functionality with the bag 🤷♀️ just preference

I train exclusively with sandbags and built a big muscular body off of nothing but sandbag ovh strict presses, sandbag power cleans and sandbag squats. 3 sessions per week, all 3 exercises done in a single session, 2 work sets per exercise, first one is power clean, second one is zercher squat, last one is SANDBAG ovh strict press with perfect form and ROM. I start out with 5rm, do 2 work sets per exercise, all sets till failure with perfect form. Resting 3 minutes between sets. As my 5rm weight becomes my 10rm weight overtime, I go to my new 5rm weight(by loading the bag up with more sand) and again make it my 10rm and repeat. Built 32lbs of lbm in last 4 years. I can squat,dead and bench a LOT.

at some point doesn't the sandbag get too big to have a good grip of tho?
@mayukhsen81953 жыл бұрын
@Who Cares? Well, if you can't get that huge of a bag.... Take bed covers, 3 of them, sew them together by the borders. Take dustbin trash bags, 10 of them, fill them up with 20 kilo and 10 kilo sand. You spread that bed cover open, put as many of those sand packs as you need in the Middle then tie the bed cover up like its a sack, tie it well. You got yourself a big sand bag. Do your presses. For extra grip, you pack that big sandbag inside a Nylon rope net And tie the net tight. You just got grips on that. Sand is free on the beach.

@@mgway4661 yeah he absolutely has hams but the calves are pretty weak sauce. But I don't blame anyone for calves, I swear they're like 98% genetic. I know intellectually you should be able to grow calves like most any other muscle but I've seen super dedicated dudes with massive growth in every other muscle not be able to make meaningful gains in the calves.

Sean Le I’m 35, a bit overweight and haven’t seen a gym since the Corona outbreak began but my calves are still defined and powerful. My buddy is a an armature WWE style wrestler and he constantly works out while “supplementing” with stuff they give to horses, but his calves are still thinner than my 3 year old’s forearms. I'm a stay at home dad , so threw out the day I walk around with a 60 lb weight vest plus 26lb kid I'm not in the greatest shape but i like a challenge. What is the best starter weight for a sandbag ?
@johnhirst12177 жыл бұрын
Victor Castillo - I have a sixty pounder and it kicks my ass. I'm not in great shape either, but if you can afford it you may want to start 40-45 or so and go up from there.
@robertthompson44116 жыл бұрын
you can get sandbags that come with inserts so you can fill it how it pleases you. i'd say start with burpees in that vest if your knees can take it (12 burpees per minute, at the start of every minute, for 10-15 minutes). it's one hell of a way to end your workout.
@patricklee87893 жыл бұрын
@Who Cares? Yeah, 300lbs is world class for the 1-3RM range of guys being at 300lbs plus themselves if not around 400lbs... if you can shoulder your own bodyweight 5 times per side, so 10 reps, starting from the floor...... well then you are a freakishly strong human being.

No. I used rubber pellets for mine, and it’s a little too stiff and full. I wish I would have put a mix of sand and rubber mulch so the bag wouldn’t be as bulky and be more pliable/flexible.

I think 2 objects weighing the same yet one being heavier than the other has to do with density. My go-to example of this that a 100 pound dumbbell is a lot harder to lift than 100 pound child.
@becarefulwhatyoufish47646 жыл бұрын
Another one could be that a 5 pound TV remote would feel a lot heavier than a 5 pound sofa. And it’s not necessarily the size difference it’s more about compaction. If the material of one object is more dense/compact than the other, then it’ll feel heavier even though it’s the same size and weight as that other object.
@becarefulwhatyoufish47646 жыл бұрын
A guy 170 pounds of lean, solid muscle will be harder to lift than a guy who’s 170 pounds of chubby fat with little to no solid muscle.

Git rid of the handles and walla you are picking water melons all day long like I use to do growing up in Indiana. I look at this and think why dont you just go get a manual labor job? You can pick heavy things up all day long and get paid for it.
@DiamorphineDeath6 жыл бұрын
These are meant specifically to train in preparation for action later on down the line. Say you have a physically demanding seasonal job, firefighting, smokejumping, etc. You need to start to prep for what you body will be going through for those manual labor relating jobs as to make sure injury does not happen and that the strength has already been sort of "created" in the gym. Do you want to go out and have to adapt to long days out in the forest hiking and carrying a 45 lb pack by being thrown directly into it? Or do you spend a month preemptively planning so when you are doing your job, your as strong and ready for it as you can be as others are relying on you? Why don't you use your noggin' for a bit there bud, and think about why people would use these are what benefits they would bring about. There are things a lot more stressful and intensive than picking water melons where your life can be on the line, say giant wildfires, swat team situations, etc. Even a paramedic would do well to preemptively train and plan as the situation can always present itself.
@bbrockRailFan6 жыл бұрын
If you want to lug a sandbag around go join the Army or Marines Infantry Unit. They lug all kinds of heavy things around they also dig lots of fox holes and hump a heavy ruck for miles. I spent 4 years in the infantry and find this as some of the most dumbass shit I have ever seen. If you want to build your body up just go to the gym and lift weights and due cardio.
