I think the annoyance when the doors are off is completely intentional. Since you don't have a door to help keep you in the vehicle in case of an accident, they want you to have the seatbelt on.

I believe the rear door was designed to avoid swinging open wildly and possibly hitting a vehicle parked next to you. The weight of the tire could cause the door to get away from you if you’re not careful.

As an owner of 80's bronco. I'm going to believe that the rear door is purposely heavy not just because of the spare tire. That's a lot of weight leveraging on the hinges both on the door and corner of the body. Had previous bronco swing back before I could get tailgate down. And corner of body where hinges mounted to body would eventually fatigue and crack. And maybe a lawyer or two saying it could crush somebody's case of beer.

Tim, to be fair I'm glad you point out the 17.4 mpg fuel economy that popped up on your instrument panel when you started up the engine; that's atrocious, not impressive (and not caused by your driving), I just saw the first Bronco on a dealer lot in my town, and the EPA label for the 2.7L 10-spd said 18 city/20 hi-way/19 avg mpg. With gas at mid-$3 a gallon and up, this package is going to be a hard sell. (that 19 label was shocking, and makes me look at the Bronco Sport much harder, or Explorer, to get better fuel economy in my next SUV) The "door" sticker is to satisfy lawyers.... you know, kinda like the sticker on lawn mowers cautioning people to keep their hands and feet away from spinning blades! Most people know how to behave around things like that, but if the sticker isn't there, Moron's lawyers can collect awards from manufacturers too easily. NHTSA likely requires Ford to set the mandatory "seat-belt on" before start-up, when doors are off. Again, that's a lawyer thing. I'm not sure if Jeep has the same set-up, but if they do, complain to NHTSA, not Ford. I'm annoyed by the entire beltminder system that NHTSA mandates.

Oh I was heavy on the throttle. Too much fun regardless.

Yep MPG is putting me off big time, Maverick is looking more appealing option, get 40 MPG plus much cheaper than Bronco Sport yet same platform

@@markcrooks1631 if MPG is a concern, this isn’t the vehicle for you that’s sure. Lots of other similarly sized vehicles get much better mpg.
@markcrooks16313 жыл бұрын
@@Pickuptrucktalk it wasn't a concern originally, I would have been happy with average for it's class, but it's below average if not near bottom of suv class which surprised me coming from Ford.

@@markcrooks1631 idk yet what the label for the 2.3L Bronco is, but hopefully it is in that average range you expected. But Maverick is an excellent choice, I agree. I just bought an Edge (gets 28.5 mpg so far with a 2.0L), so getting a Maverick will have to wait awhile for me.

We need Navistar to come out with a successor to the Scout II, because we’ve already seen the new Blazer 🤢

Hmm, that is why I don’t mind taking delivery of my WildTrak in 2023… really hoping Ford by that time have already sort out all the bugs especially the electronic gremlins. Enjoyed watching your video. 👍✌️🍁

Ok I didn’t want to comment but as soon as I seen him put the drivers side top first I said automatic fail, it’s seems to me like this guy need to be in an Explorer instead if he’s complying about those little things. Plus im 5’4 150 and I have no problem getting my jeep rear top off by myself so come on man… great vid though.

Nope. And it is sold out, so don't worry about that price. :)

Ikr? Crazy people spend that much on a plastic car with a 4 cylinder. Ford execs laughing all the way to the bank 😅🤣

Removal wasn't that bad. Putting the doors back on, well...
