Talk about perfect timing to find your tutorials & hacks! My friends son is 21 this week so I’m making a cake for him - he has a deadly nut allergy so my mate is always very cautious about commercial cakes. She hates baking whereas I love it so making his birthday/exam cakes etc has become a bit of a tradition. Tbh as long as it’s loaded with chocolate I don’t think he’ll care what it looks like but I’d love to nail the clean lines of a cake like this.

Make sure the metal is not hot 🧐 how long should you wait after heating it with a blow torch to where it’s only warm then???

Great question! You can wait a few seconds or you can rub the comb with a towel or paper towel to cool it down slightly and then use it straight away. To check the temperature, you should be able to touch the straight edge without burning yourself - it should feel warm but not hot
