Thank you sir! There is no such thing as Free travel. I wish creators would stop telling their audience that there is. Good stuff Matt

Great list Matt! I definitely agree with #4 as this certainly ties into the CPP argument. Go to places where you want to go!!

Very insightful Matt, I liked your point about the Hilton hotel choosing the destination vs the other way around. Very candid. And I eat those 3% fees, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t eat into profits too hahaha. Good stuff Matt!!

If you ever carry a balance, all your points are worthless...or you just paid real cash for a partial (if any) return.
@MattWelterOfficialАй бұрын
Yeah I definitely recommend to make sure you pay your balances off in full every month!

If you carry a balance, credit cards are not for you.

Valuing Hilton Gold status is tricky and I try not to overvalue it. Did you really get "$400+" of value from the Gold status if anyone in US can get Gold status for a $150 AF?
@MattWelterOfficialАй бұрын
Very Fair- I guess the caveat would be you are guaranteed value every time with the Food & Bev Credit and there's outsized value potential internationally as well.

Play at the level you can comfortably afford. For me, I'd like to move into the travel side of things especially long term, but the barrier to entry is much higher than I'd like. Could I spend $4,000 in 3 months to achieve a $95 AF card's SUB. Technically yes, but with a 40k/year grocery store job, that's probably not the best financial choice. On the other hand, there are several no AF cashback cards whose SUBs I've achieved or could achieve with more prudent spending levels.

Completely agree with this and it's a great point. Each person's individual situation is different. Appreciate the insight Dominic!

Those top places aren't going to vanish off the earth 😂 follow the deaIs! But in all seriousness, I understand what you mean. I had to move away from hyatt properties for trips because they were hours from the airport. Team easily accessible.

Haha yeah very true 😂a good combination of a great redemption + feasibility is always best. Thanks for watching JP!

Never carry balance should be emphasized every video. I hold about 5 cards and try hard not to let them dictate what I spend on, but I do try stay on top of HOW I should spend to maximize points. Accumulating points is like clipping coupons. Why not save if there is a way?
@MattWelterOfficialАй бұрын
Absolutely. Completely agree with those points. Thanks so much for watching!

#6 Opening too many cards in short time can be dangerous. You maybe declined on new card or the worst case, bank can shut you down on all the cards you have with them! I've seen some youtubers opening almost 1 new card every 30 days! Of course the bank will be suspicious and look closely on your credit card lineup. In general it's best to have at least 3 months between new cards. You don't want to have an addiction of opening new cards! 😆😆😆😆
@MattWelterOfficialАй бұрын
Haha yeah I get that, and am guilty of this at times. I typically recommend 2-4 months in between applications for sure. Appreciate you watching!

Not only that, but more to point churning is not for the young. Gonna get blk listed quick than be locked out of great offers/cards.
