This video resonates so deeply with how I used to hire. My team was not successful until I started making those uncomfortable “right hires”.

I would pay so much money for this information, but she put it out for FREE, and mind-blowing. JUST GOLD.

Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I own a business and we are having such a hard time keeping employees who can fulfill their role well and believe in our mission and culture. Please more videos like this.

This is just such a good video even for people that don’t have anything to do with the hiring process

The affinity part of this video was a real eye opener to me - I definitely choose people like me because their behaviour is more predictable! I have heard this concept discussed in a behavioural economic context before, but never regarding the hiring process. Great video!

Leila, you talk about culture fit a lot in some of your videos. Here you touch a little on what that doesn’t mean. It might be a good idea to do a longer video on what culture fit, what it means, what it doesn’t mean, and other details about how it relates to the big picture.

Thank You Leila! I know I'm not doing 1 on 1 consulting with you... but it feels like you made this for me... lol content is on point and hits home right now. Last week, I had to let go of a bad hire because I fell into the Halo Effect and glossed over everything else, especially culture fit. Thank you!

Hey, great video Leila. Love what you and Alex do for the community. Alex did a video on how different definitions of meaning and belief systems can either reinforce or be detrimental to visionaries vs operational perspectives. I'm curious about your perspective on the same topic of capital M and small m meaning from the operational side. Thanks In Advance for all that you do.

Highlights: Watch out for your own biases when finding a candidate. Especially be careful of your first impressions the first fifteen minutes-deciding whether someone who matches your own energy/personality (or your idea of the energy/personality for the role) is a good fit or not too early in the interview process. The issue with this is that the remainder of the interview you are often just seeking to confirm these premature biases. Beware of the halo effect. Look for good culture fit while also looking for diversity of THINKING.

How do you get people in to interview? Do you advertise, flyer, job sites, headhunt, steal them from other companies? I'm really struggling just getting people in.

I'm fascinated by the content you and Alex put out almost everyday, but what about creating some content for non-business owners yet, college students, or just finished highschool. Content for individuals that are at the bottom level still deciding how to start or what to start. I'm talking about individuals that work 40 hours a week making about 30k a year. majority of the population. Is there certain skills to learn and how do we get those skills? what jobs to look for that have growth? advice on the best degree to get if there is one? There is alot of content out their that youtubers make but its not real and its not helpful they just make it for the views and to trick the poverty population. You and Alex are killing the game by being real and I think your advice to the poverty population which is the majority of the population would be helpful. Thanks

I appreciate that. I am actually working on it. I agree with ya. I think because my daily actions are so much more relevant to bigger businesses it takes more mental effort to zero in on the population you’re describing but i am certainly working on someb
