Can we just talk about how in the third story I believe, the guy apparently brought along a 12 gauge shotgun to hunt squirrel… if you shot a squirrel with that the only thing left would just be a big red mist and some fur. Oh and also, imagine going out into the woods with a .22 handgun as defense, unless you’re defending against rodents or one hell of a marksman, the bigger animals will shrug that caliber off like being hit by a pebble. Sorry I just thought that was funny and had to bring it up 😂
@blainwilson79373 жыл бұрын
Do you hunt? #8 birdshot is acceptable to use for squirrels in a .12 gauge. The bird shot spreads out and doesn’t do much damage to the squirrel but is effective with the spread. A .22 handgun in the woods is sufficient for defense against wild hogs, feral dogs in many states but it’s obvious you would want something bigger out west or in Alaska.
@keiferwoods28713 жыл бұрын
@@blainwilson7937 yes I do hunt. To me, you’re putting an awful lot of trust in the birdshot spread not missing the squirrel or landing a killing hit and not just wounding it. I much prefer a .22 rifle for squirrels and when I do hunt, I always bring my .45ACP 1911with me.

I want SO much to like Carmen, bc I adore dark folklore, & there aren't enough women in horror narration. But I just.. can't get behind her voice for some reason. I'm sure she's an AMAZING person, & it's something wrong on my end, but her voice just grates on me & I wish I knew why. I dunno if it's the accent, the monotone, the mispronunciations or what, but I've tried listening several times here & on the podcast and I fear she's just.. not for me. 3( I'll keep trying though. 'Cause I truly do wanna give her, & FF, a fair shot. Spooky folklore is my thing all the way,. Just.. not this particular narrator unfortunately. u-u
@spaceylacey833 жыл бұрын
It feels weird to me too because I have a southern accent, grew up around them, and hers sounds *so weird* to me. I dunno if it's fake or if it's real and she's trying to restrain it but sometimes she has southern I sounds and sometimes she doesn't and it just trips me out. It's like the uncanny valley of accents.
@RuinedTemple3 жыл бұрын
@@spaceylacey83 I wouldn't think it's fake, likely just a different dialect from some other area of the south. Or, she may have spent a significant amount of time living somewhere that has a noticeably different accent & it affected her own. Another possibility is having parents with significantly different sounding accents from one another (like me, dad from Oklahoma & New Mexico, mom from Michigan & Washington). There are several situations that can naturally defuse a southern accent (and of course, they're not all the same).
@spaceylacey833 жыл бұрын
@@RuinedTemple lol I know they're not all the same. I'm used to that. I've lived all over the place and my accent is changed too, I just find her dialect unusual enough that it always snags my attention. I even said, she could be trying to tone down a real one. Lots of us do that after being made fun of enough.
