Thank you! ❤️ See you at the Fred. I'll be there even if I can't ride.

All the hill training is priceless mate when it comes to the Fred Whitton. Crack on Russ, brilliant 👍👍👍💪

Cheers mate! The hill I done wasn’t as steep as the ones on the fred but I’m going to be hitting harder hills each week in the build up to the Fred. May have to travel though to get some of them done. Nice one matey

Another interesting video, Russ. Thanks for posting. Looks like your coach's training plan and your hard work are paying off! Hope Mark liked your long, 4 peaks ride. Strykr bars and gels are great, aren't they! Cycling in the wind and gloom is always hard so well done you on that ride. Chapeau!

Hi mate sorry for the delay in reply. Yes he likes what he saw on the data screen but don’t want me to burn out in the build up. I don’t really like the strykr bars and gels. Not a fan of the texture and the flavours, the gels are to gloopy as well. Each to their own though. The bad weather seems to follow me on all my training rides lately. Hoping to have a bit of good weather this weekend. Thank you matey ❤️

Good ride that Russ. I do a similar route from Uppermill. Local for me l live in Diggle. The route is Isle of Skye road, bin green , Holme moss , torside to glossop , back up and over torside , up Holme moss climb , down to holmfirth to greenfield , to Uppermill and up buckstones climb and back to Uppermill. Going to do your route looks good to.

That’s sounds like a tough route. Have you got a GPX file for it ? Will be good to do that. I’ve Covered most of them climbs but never in one ride. Will be a good training route for the Fred that. The route I done probably isn’t has hard as yours but a good route. I can send you the gpx for it if you want it

Meant to say you do a huge level of training and that climb as well is impressive. Be careful though a tss score of over 400 a week it’s difficult to sustain. But great effort for the week
@CyclingwithRuss8 ай бұрын
It’s all set by my coach. On a deload week next week so will get some rest and recovery rides in . My expected tss next week is 182 this week though is going to be another big one.

@stevenbutterworth1292 not sure to be honest mate. I’d like sub 8 hours but will probably be 9ish. Want to be out at 6. Mrs is coming over with me the night before so would like to be back for 4ish and enjoy the evening with food and drink. Yeah he’s a great guy

I found loosening the shoes helps keep them warmer, as mine get cold even with overshoes. Also was waiting for an update on the wheels - and at 14mins in cannot believe you not stopped for food yet? Not even a shop? You must fuel the engine :-)

With my overshoes on I’m normally ok but didn’t use them 🙄 I did have more good on me but was hoping for a coffee and a slice of cake 🍰 had a decent feed once I got home though 😋

I live in Wales where it is easier to win the lottery than it is to find any level roads 😂Looks beautiful at yours, and yes we all like electricity, but goodness those pylons really do ruin the view a lot 😕
@CyclingwithRuss8 ай бұрын
It’s reasonably hilly where I live but you will win on the amount of hills. Yes they do ruin it and we also have some great looking windmills to ruin the views as well 🙄

Hi mate. I like the wahoo devices for ease of use. Just depends on what else you want it to do and budget. The roam I got I picked up second hand for £100 and it’s been great so far. The garmin 530 and 540 are a bit fiddly to use mate

Yep, like a muppet I read the date wrong🙄…I went the following morning up blackstone, there was little to no wind. Descending down cragg was dodgy as the lower half was slightly icy at 8am🫣 Great effort pal.

It’s ok mate. We will get out soon enough. I know mate I couldn’t believe the weather on the Saturday morning and I used half a days holiday to go do it in that weather 😂
