@@AdmiralAwsm they have to have a little something... the 'time travel' we had in BotW was memories... maybe in BotW 2 we'll explore Zelda's memories, but because of the blood of the Goddess, we might see memories of events happening in the wayyy distant past. that'd be cool. Kinda would work like the silent realm of Skyward Sword, where you can 'be' in a place, but can't actively interact or prevent the flow of history from happenning. An interesting thing to point out: In the Urbosa segment, even when controlling Urbosa inside Gerudo Town, it is still Zelda that performs the animations to activate the runes of the Sheikah Slate. Meaning that the scene in the initial trailer with Link conjuring up a bomb was probably during a segment where Zelda is an ally.

@CipherionYT4 жыл бұрын
Here’s my take. Have we seen a mission yet where link is not playable? I can’t think of any. Guardi (the egg) follows link around, right? The shiekah slate was what activated Guardi. What if Guardi is providing the runes!?! The shiekah slate would be similar to a remote control, an activation system. That would also explain why the runes in AoC seem so much more powerful, and why no one is seen using the slate except for Zelda. Maybe after Guardi (sadly) was lost or destroyed, the runes were recreated but were weaker, or maybe the slate just doesn’t have enough power for their full capability.

In the Lockup where the Stalnox's bones are lying on the floor, there is a stone sign saying something like "Test of the Royal Guard. Regarding Link being from Hateno Village and the house there, I always believed that it was his Family's home. Keep in mind that Link was only 17 at the time of the Calamity, and he probably served at the castle years before that. We know through the Masterworks book that he pulled the Master Sword at age 12 or 13, so he was probably leaving in/near the castle at that time. It would also take at least a couple BOTW days to get to Hyrule Castle from Hateno village, so it wouldn't make sense if he left there and came to the castle every day. His father was also a knight, so perhaps Link and his Father left for Hyrule Castle when Link was a young teenager and that is why the house was abandoned. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of Link being from Hateno and I am not trying to debunk this theory, I just wanted to share my thoughts about how I think he lived there/ended up at the castle. To anyone who actually read this whole thing: thanks!

On the bright side, we might get two battles against the Yiga, maybe more? Of course, I guess it could be a costume change sort of thing, but you never know. I really, really hope we see a new Yiga Clan leader, but a Younger Kohga would be pretty awesome too. Either way, he better not be a pushover! Home sweet Hateno? Sure, I'd be up for it. @Fluffynator could be that he did have it already but he put it back until he felt like he can use it properly. In every incarnation of Link that required "the blade of evil's bane" he's had to earn the Master Sword in some fashion before he could use it (collecting the 3 stones from OoT, finding the sword after retrieving the 3 pendants, etc.) Let's say hypothetically that he did manage to get the sword at that young of an age, that still wouldn't mean he's ready for it.

It would be so so cool if they explore the younger lives of Zelda, Link and others through memory cutscenes in AOC because, for example, the only other times we truly have seen link at different ages was in OOT and MM (we played as them as well). Wind Wakers development history had shown that link was going to age from early game (his younger self) to late game (older more mature self), which obviously ended up being scrapped. There's no other Zelda games that even toy with this idea/concept. This game could take advantage of this idea/concept so easily that it's hard not to get your hopes up. 😂 Whether or not this kind of stuff really happens in AOC or even in the sequel to BOTW, I know I'll be happy either way, the hype is real!

After the King talks to Zelda, you can see Zelda holding something in her hands. This is probably the "dongle" attachment to the Sheikah Slate that unlocks its abilities before it gets "broken" by the time of BotW. You can see the dongle in the Age Of Calamity artwork for Zelda, and in other screenshots.

The two battles in gurudo town can’t be the same In The trailer Urbosa is whetting the champion garb and in the gameplay footage she doesn’t have it. It may just be a change in the models though so...
@lewismurphy34994 жыл бұрын
Also, in the first trailer when Urbosa is wearing the champions garb we can see Hylian soldiers fighting alongside the gerudo. Yet there’s no hylian soldiers (apart from Link) in the gameplay footage.

So many people keep saying that the house in Hateno used to be Link's house. To be clear, it was most likely Link's *family's* home, not specifically Link's house. No one his age, even then, owned their own home or lived alone when they still had their immediate family around them. Likely he was born there and did live there with his family and when his father needed to be situated IN the castle, he probably took Link and his family along with him to live either in Castle Town or the barracks. It's very bittersweet that LInk gets to buy his childhood home and finally call it his own in BotW.
@castonyoung75144 жыл бұрын
Since when does Link ever have his immediate family around him? If the house was his family's home, it's his by the time the game takes place. The only time he has had immediate family around was in Wind Waker I believe, and even there it seems like his grandmother was the one who gave birth to him.
@cosmo25904 жыл бұрын
in the gameplay we see that impa has a skill quest in the map too, and it is located in kakariko village. as link's is in hateno, it is pretty solid evidence that that wasnt a one off baseless comment, but that link really is from hateno village
@liesl53134 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t Zelda mention in a memory that link followed in his father’s footsteps when he became a knight? So if Link lived in Hateno, did he live with his father? And was his father retired? Because Hateno is a ways away from the castle
@ericmurotake51804 жыл бұрын
Another possibility is that his father was a frontier guard (still a royal knight, but one whose posting is a bit more provincial, either due to disfavor (perhaps due to rising to his status, rather than being born into it), or because of skills (more akin to a Ranger, with similar survival skills as his son))

So, in the gerudo section after Zelda beats the Yiga Blademaster, an item is picked up called "Ancient Memory Part." Could we possibly learn more about the events 10,000 years ago?

The two scenes where Urbosa is fighting in Gerudo town are probably not the same fight. If you pay attention at 3:27 , in one scene she is wearing her champion garb and in the other she is not.
@warrioroflight68724 жыл бұрын
I wonder if the Master Kohga in this game is the father's mother's father of the Master Kohga we fight in BotW. You know, the person who came up with the technique that ended up getting his daughter's son's son killed while he fought Link?
@catalyst5394 жыл бұрын
Nope. Same guy. You forgetting he’s a Sheikah? Sheikah live longer than any race in Hyrule.
@heroofhyrule90274 жыл бұрын
3:33 Actually, I don't think that's the same battle. If you look at the two scenes, one is Urbosa with the champion garment, while the other was her wearing her original outfit. Still, a great video!

My theory on links house is that his father his sister and him all lived there and in masterworks it says that his father was also a knight so maybe he died during the great calamity and his sister became an orphan

im interested to see what they do with the hearts, assuming link still needs 13 for the master sword. link had i think 9 hearts at 2:46 , zelda had 8 at 3:43 and urbosa looked to have 7 hearts at around 3:35 which was most likely in the same battle zelda was in, as they were both against the yiga clan in gerudo. i wonder if link will get his hearts by passing trainings, and defeating bosses, and if the champions or zelda have a similar heart increasing mechanic seeing as so far, they all have a different amount of hearts.

Regarding the Yiga Clan and Master Kohga, I wonder why it is that they name each leader Kohga. I would suspect that it's to hide whenever there's a change in leadership.
@elitegamer93104 жыл бұрын
It could be similar to how there is a character named Impa in every major Zelda game. It could be that it's just a name passed down to signify their role in the Shiekah/Yiga.
@matthewmuir88844 жыл бұрын
@@elitegamer9310 True; that could also be the case, though wouldn't the title of "Master" be enough to signify their role?
@elitegamer93104 жыл бұрын
@@matthewmuir8884 It's like the Vatican, when they take on the leadership, they change their name. For example, Pope Francis' real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Creating a Champion even says that Master Khoga took on the name of his predecessor after he became Master of the Yiga.
