Mark! You Rock! I am getting ready to do my first (and hopefully last!) wedding this weekend. I am running through several of your videos again as I cross my T's and dot my I's. When I started this process, I was not comfortable doing this... AT ALL. But with your help, I am confident that I can not only do it, but maybe even knock it out if the park - thanks to you! I know I don't have to pay you for KZbin videos, but I feel I still owe you one. So here we go... PEOPLE! If you don't have a good candidate for an officiant for your wedding... Mark is the guy...PERIOD. Call him, hire him, and pay him whatever he asks. You will only do this once, so don't cut corners here. Do you want the best? Well, here he is - his name is Mark Allan Groleau.

For an outdoor wedding, I would assume you run a spot check on the upcoming weather forecast. Have you ever had to have the BM/MOA hold an umbrella over top the couple?

Great guide! One thing I would add for me is to look in the mirror and make sure all is good (for me step 7).

My favorite thing is the provision that you make for the (very likely) possibility that something could go wrong (including a dog running through the ceremony - lol) - it relieves that tension we all get as a participant (speaking from experience officiating at ceremonies) at the thought that we might mess up this special occasion by something we may or may not say or do - nice touch Mark - this whole series makes me want to be a wedding officiant ... just not at this late stage of my life - lol

Any good opening statements for an outdoor wedding during this unprecedented covid experience. How to relieve everyone's angst and anxiety? Thanks!
@cordiallwater23534 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This is very helpful. Much of what you discussed has been covered by the couple and their planner. I appreciate the quick response and the options you provide for greetings. This is a trying time especially for those who had planned a wedding before covid. I feel more confident now with you insight, thanks!

I took Mark's course but if I recall correctly the first step to check the pages wasn't in it. 5 minutes before I officiated I decided to check cuz I had the same gut feeling. I was missing the last 3 pages! I would have been so embarrased! At least my script is in the cloud so I could have opened it on my cell phone. I would add to make sure your own phone is silent. I forgot to but thankfully it didnt ring.

I have been to many weddings. I have never seen anyone sign papers during the ceremony. Can this be done after the ceremony but before the presentation of the couple?
@bearclayton16005 жыл бұрын
It is never done in the U.S. like that ... it is handled right after or after grand entrance or during dinner. I am an officiant and have been to more weddings than I can count. The whole ending explained on this channel is nothing I’ve seen in the U.S. but could just be a Canada thing

I have seen the lighting of candles and signing of papers during the ceremony, but after the vows. More than once. I am in the US.

You got it. I've spent the last couple hours checking out your videos and want you to know it's really helping a lot. I've done a couple of really small weddings with maybe ten to twenty people and what I've written has always been fine but next month I'm doing one with maybe 200 plus and I'm kinda freaking out. I think going by your layout I'll feel a lot more comfortable and confident so again, thank you!

One other thing to check. Make sure the wedding party spits out or swallows their gum. Nothing worse that chomping gum in front of 200 people. Just looks bad.
