I luv the fact there there is no pfaffing about with a massive template and a thousand separate patches. CS Series all seem very intuitive, well scripted, nicely designed, recorded and consistent.

Thank you for this great presentation of your video, especially using the CC controllers. With their numerous videos, they helped me a lot to learn how to compose for classical orchestra. And so I think it's a pity that the introduction to this video was filmed while driving.

Quick tech question? I use Logic with CSS and when the transport (Play) is stopped the mod wheel slider resets to zero. No sound is then heard from the midi keyboard...one always has to raise the modwheel to practice alternate line ideas etc. -Is there some way to set CSS midi behavior so that the modwheel remains in the position it was at in automation when the playhead stops? (most libraries work this way)

Thank u Marc for instructions and great tips on cinema orchestration. Creating movement within the same string part it brings a big difference to one part or several parts, the movement is within automation, this is new to me and I love the challenge to make my musical creativity greater.., Expression, dynamics modulation, vibrato..What I'm paying close attention to is, when u end the first part then move to the second part which is the melody, then that melody movement is filled in with the right parts to make it sound full and rich, I understand the format, great work thank u again for your expertise in cinematic orchestra instruction, I will definitely keep watching, thx again for SHARING I'm working with Studio One 5 professional

Nice demo. Only problem I have faced with similar libraries earlier that I could not find them supporting pitch bend range change.. If I need to make long slide or glide it does not allow that. What about this library - does it support change pitch bend range to perform large slides from one note to another (say 5-6 semitones apart)? I am not talking about legato.. Just pure glide/slide using my MPE controller.

I use CSS: my hugest problem is the timing of the notes; how do you get the Cello to land at the same time as the violins; especially the measured tremolo with the legato; it has taken me two hours to line up just 8 measures of strings; of a violin part with a cello part; it takes forever to line everything up... and I don't see what you're doing (if anything) to get those to like up. I'm assuming you have set the delay to -50 or so to make sure they're on the downbeat?

Hi Marc! Very good video, thank you for sharing with us begginer composers! I have a question, how do you achieve such a massive sound on your strings? Is it reverb, compression or just the mod wheel? I ask bc I have CSS 2 but my strings sound weak compared to yours. Thank you!

Hello Marc. Came here to watch how to use CSS in multi track, but then I noticed you are using an Evolution UC33e controller. I have one of these I stopped using since I thought it didn't support windows 10. Can you give me your thoughts on how you're using this, as I'd like to use it with CSS like how you're doing. Drivers, enigma software etc. Your thoughts please. BTW, your videos and composition skills are simply amazing.

What is he saying at 4:21 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aojPe3ior810hMk) I can't understand what he's saying. Something about not liking the big hit? But it also looks like he's referring to a *different* library. No offense intended, but the whole thing is confusing and hard to follow. And the constant edits don't help.

I'm saying that when comparing CSS strings with the big hit (which is from another library... actually, it's a stack of multiple libraries) then it makes me feel like I don't like the orchestral hit as much.... I hope it makes sense

Hi Marc, I'm very impressed with your energy, drive & elan, not to mention you absolutely know what you're talking about IMO. Allow me however to give some feedback about your videos in general. Maybe a small detail and no issue for some, but I frequently hear this pumping beat in the background, when you're talking. To me personally this is kind of disturbing. Is there a reason why you chose to do that?
