Bought it last week and it's a really good, thoughtful cookbook - I can hear both of your voices in the instructions and Claire comments - a very good and totally affordable supplement to your videos for when the power goes out or you don't feel like cooking with your laptop on the counter :)

Over here in Hawaii, we like teri beef the best! We use the thin slices like you get in the Korean supermarket. Your sauce is the BOSS! Another thing to do with it is mix in about 1/3 cup of sauce, one pound ground beef, an egg and 1/2 cup of crumbs (bread, cracker, etc). Make teri burgers in the pan or better on the grill!

I'm making this tonight thanks to you. I made the teriyaki sauce earlier. I couldn't find mirin but i "didn't worry 'bout it." I used rice vinegar + an extra half cup of sugar. I thought it was done but when i tasted it as it cooled, it was no longer sweet enough. But I "didnt worry 'bout it" i just (boldly) dissolved in another half cup of sugar and it was perfect! 😊

When I was in Seoul I ended up at a place called Res2Go-- it purported to have "authentic American Teriyaki" and got served with little free cups of coffee, with various photos of Seattle, WA on the walls and such. It was like the Korean version of how Americans do "chinese" restaurants, and I loved it. Now thanks to Aaron and Claire I can FINALLY make authentic American teriyaki x D

I love chicken teriyaki! Made in last weekend, but with a whole chicken with an orange stuffed in the rib cage, cooked it on low temperature in the oven (125 C) scooping it with teriyaki sauce! Now I use store bought sauce, it now I know how to make my own. By the way chicken loins is absolutely the best part of the chicken!

Best teriyaki chicken I've ever eaten was at a restaurant in Randwick, Sydney Australia. I even lived in Japan for a year and this restaurant was the best. They changed chefs and the new one didn't do it the same, never found a better one. It's a high bar, Aaron, so I'll see if this crosses it this weekend - I need to get a new bottle of soy sauce first and of course, GREEN ONION.
