So, the first thing is for a person to be fully convinced that being more kind and compassionate are good qualities to have. That a person actually experiences more happiness and fulfillment when they are kind and compassionate towards other living beings. In this connection let us read a very nice verse from the Bible: Ephesians 4:31-32 “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, quarreling, and slander be put away from you, along with all hatred. And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in the Messiah.” Now, let us look at some ways how a person can enhance and increase their compassion and kindness. On a practical level, most people think of themselves first. And then perhaps some relatives and friends. This is often where it ends. In order to cultivate compassion and kindness, a person can make a commitment to try to do some random acts of kindness to at least one other living being every day. Without expecting anything in return. We should not want to be acknowledged, rewarded or even thanked. The more a person do this, the more they will like it. It actually feels really nice because it is in harmony with our spiritual nature to be kind and compassionate.
