Got to be There, so melodic, just moves the music along without detracting from the lead vocals. Beautiful.

Good lesson. It's worth practising all these patterns using just your index finger for plucking consistency and also raking up as well as down. There's a whole avenue of possibilities once you get into it. Diana Ross and the Supremes - Love Is Here And Now You're Gone is a great bass line

Yeah, personally the james Jamerson 1 finger technique doesn’t work for me... but I agree it’s great for tone consistency.
@martinheath5947

@@ebassguitar It didn't work for me at first (I'm a three finger and thumb player), neither did palm mute thumb only or double thumbing (still working on it) or the Bernard Edwards "chucking" technique, but all of these repay a bit of applied practise and bring rewards over time! Jamerson anchored his other fingers on the p/u cover and used a floating thumb to assist with muting and articulation. One day I hope to be more proficient using a pick as well although that has always been the least favourite. It's all good ✌☝👍👋

Great video lesson. Just starting out on BLP so guess it will take me some time to fully get to grips with this one. But love the descriptions and explanations. The fill notes and connecting ohrases are great; but that's a whole different lesson I guess and these really bring the concepts to life. Great stuff.
