Did you install the rear folding seat, if so, do you have a video on it? And do you know what make it is? I’m thinking about getting one, thank you in advance

Hey- I didn’t- they were fitted before but they are exmoor trim - really easy to fit as juts have two threaded bolts that run underneath the tub. I guess it would be a case of measuring up where the holes are and drilling through

I think the “5 way stretch” material that is popular for van conversions might be what you want. EBay/Amazon etc

Brilliant advice, see crappy seals everyday in the garage. Would have gone gen seals myself for not alot more money. Good to seal the gaps front and rear with black silicone smoothed off with a cloth with a dash of white spirit on it. Gen seals about £18 each Inc vat

That was easy. The door cards wave effect could be sorted out by using a aluminium sleeve between the door frame and the card to stop the bolt from squashing the door card and keeping the distance constant.

I've put black putty inside the two gaps at the ends of the sill to avoid water dripping inside the window, does it work? Who knows, hopefully 😂

Hi Doc, A great upgrade, but can i ask about the powerfull door trims, there seems to be some bulging, is this the same on both sides? have you asked if this is correct?

It’s only the driver side and no haven’t spoken to them yet but need to!

Windscreen wipers. For sure you must be able to find a decent set of replacement wipers for a defender. I refuse to believe that with all the upgradable parts wiper blades / motors arent all over the place.

I fitted genuine seals all round to my defender recently. Purchased genuine waste seals for £16 each excluding vat from LR Parts Ltd
@jerrygreene71392 жыл бұрын
That’s good to know. Sometimes genuine isn’t super expensive. I’ve had some bad luck buying from eBay. I think I would always check genuine first. No disrespect meant to the good doctor!

I just fitted a new windscren cowl to my Discovery 4. I got the part from my local LR main dealer. It was over £30.00 cheaper than I could get from ebay, Amazon etc and was available for collection next day.
@georgetaylor5002 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The waste seals I didn't think were particularly expensive. The rear door bottom seal was £21 excluding VAT which I also thought was reasonable. However, £112 excluding VAT for a pair of front door seals and £50 excluding VAT for the rear tailgate seal did make me cry a little inside. However, I previously fitted Britpart seals to the doors and tailgate and they were so hard and useless - If it rained or I washed the car the water poured in - Always worth paying the extra for the genuine ones.
