Personally, I turned 30 this year and I have some good decisions I took in my 20's that you mentioned and of course bad ones too and now as I have entered the 30's you gave me some precautions - the health precaution is very important, as I haven't really thought about it. The health part is what we tend to ignore and it's the most crucial part. You can have income, but you can't do much with it if your health is compromised.

The belief that you can't change or improve your career in your 30s. You can still qualify for NSFAS in your 30s, you can still do free courses in your 30s, you can do learnerships & internships in your 30s. People are against long-term plans in their 30s. You can still have long-term plans. Putting your life on hold a bit, to fulfill your dreams. Forget events, relations & entertainment a bit. And try fulfilling your dreams

You definitely can even be at 40, but it can be a bit tricky if you don't have any experience at all.
