VF, great summary, yes, the commute is the problem. And, this time of year, even the 5 up to SEA could become impassable and close at certain points. ASI ES, as they say. Your thinking of getting a PPL is super. Go for it. And be safe on the roads, because those Embraers can fill. Your friend, Herman

Hey there Herman! Good afternoon. I’m thinking the closer we get to summer that maybe the commute will be easier. Maybe! Lol. But it’s all good. Hope things are well with you. Talk soon friend! 😊

What a great re-cap! It echoes what I’ve heard from other FA’s and it’s great to have another perspective. I hadn’t realized how difficult the commute might be between PDX & SEA. That’s an interesting part of the mix for you right now! Hoping it gets better as you gain a bit more seniority. Do you feel like working 100+ hours is going to work for you long term? I’ve been trying to gauge how much work is sustainable when I think about the potential income for a FA career.

Hi there Anna. Thanks for the comments and questions! I would say that 100+ hours has been fine for the first 5 months or so. I think it was beneficial for me to learn more about the actual job in a shorter time. Now I do plan to scale it back a little from 120 per mo to about 90-100 per mo. I think with this there will be a better life balance. I think the average work hours per mo would be about 70-90 for most FAs across the board but again it's up to you how much you want to work ultimately. Thanks for watching & subscribing! Let me know what other questions you might have. Talk soon! :)

Wow! Your older one is 28 and youngest is 19. So you are totally free. My older is 10 and youngest is 5. I have two in between. Congratulations for reaching your first check in. I start to prepare my second job back up from this month. I am attending a night school for personal support worker. It is a vocational training program for entry level position as health care workers. In my past 19 years with my previous employer I had experienced 911 in 2001, SARS in 2003, financial crisis in 2008 and covid 19 four times big downturns. In aviation industry one or two job back up is very important for young joiners. We are similar age and we are fine in terms finance.

Great video! I'm a former FA and have been away from flying for a long while. I've been thinking about getting back into it. My only concern is I'm a lot older than i was when i first was hired. In your opinion, do you think being an older individual limits your chances of getting hired? I'm over 55. Or would my previous experience be seen as a plus? The airline I first worked for is no longer in operation so I would be applying to different carriers.

Age would not be an issue. I had several people in my class that are around your age. They all made it through and are now flight attendants. So don’t think that would be a deterrent. I say go for it and see if you can get your wings back. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Take care.😀

Hello there, I have another question :) when you guys do TO's, how long are you staying in the foreign country until you fly back? :)
@valenciaflyer
@valenciaflyer 6 ай бұрын
Good morning. Typically it’s 24 hours or so. There may be some unique trips where you get to stay as long as two maybe even three days. But those are usually taken by the high seniority flight attendance. For someone starting out, you’ll be lucky to get a normal TO depending on where you are based. Hope that helps. Thanks so much for the question. Take care. 😃
