I flew out of PDX the day the new terminal opened. I was very impressed with the new terminal. It had been some years since I had flown out of the airport. I cant say I was impressed with the concourse. It was dated and really needs more and varied restaurant selections. Evidentally alot of restaurants no longet seem to be at this airport. Concourse really needs to be updated. Otherwise the terminal is beautiful and definitely impressive.

You had to be on Concourse D. The other concourses are different. For the greatest restaurants, you should have wandered over to Concourse C.

@@pacmanc8103 Yes I was on Concourse D. Thanks for the info on the other Concourse. I'm glad to hear better restaurant selections on the other Concouses. I would think with Concourse D having Intl Flights, that the Concourse would be more appealing. Hopefully an update is planned.

@@MrGlendale111 The D concourse itself was designed a decade before 9/11, when most restaurants were located in the main terminal. When Phase 2 of the terminal is done, there will be lots of restaurants on the TSA-secure side of the D and E concourses.

There were kind of 3 phases. They had to decommission the "A" gates (ick terrible place to be) and open the 'new' B gates (basically all Horizon flights for Alaska passengers). Apparently this was one positive of the COVID-19 pandemic as it allowed them to do this phase more quickly. The new "B" gates area is lovely to wait in, with local coffee establishment "GOOD" on the level with the gates and just up the escalator a version of local favorite Southern restaurant Screen Door. In 2024-2026 this will now take a little more time to reach as Alaska will be building a new elite flyer lounge on the soon to be constructed mezzanine above the former TSA and concessions lobby for the B/C gates and a pedestrian concourse will be used from the new checkpoint to reach this area. (However, all B/C/D/E gates are all now re-connected past TSA, no more exit and re-entry necessary)

Does KCM have no metal detector or X-ray?
@valenciaflyer
@valenciaflyer 2 күн бұрын
Hello Brent. Thank you for the question. So KCM does not have a metal detector when you are able to go straight through. But when they randomly select you for a screening, then you cannot go straight through and must go through the scanners. That is what we call getting ‘randomed’. So it’s a 50-50 on whether you’re going to be selected. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and have a great day.😄

VF, agree totally. Have been in ORD quite a few times, and always enjoyed it. Both for pleasure and work. YOUR airline used to have a base there serving MEM STL MSY IAH ATL MIA TPA & maybe CVG nonstop. If you saw Randolph Street inside the loop, I had a friend who lived in a high rise on Randolph. A great city for sure Want your advice or suggestions, if any, on something. As u know, I have this 2 br, 2 bath ground floor condo in White Center section of west Seattle that has washer and dryer. And I am in it alone. I own it free and clear. Would very much like to have an FA be a room mate, either sex. Due to all the travel, they would not be around all the time, but they would not be far from SeaTac. I am not looking for someone due to financial necessity - but to have someone in the FA lifestyle. Am not going to put a $$ figure here, but, FOR SURE, the rent would be a bargain basement compared to other places. Being an aviation geek, would enjoy hearing about the ins and outs of the FA work. Would want to meet and learn something about the person and find out what he/she thought could be afforded, since I know the credit hour rates and per diem rates. My question is how I could get this offer up on a board or site that the ‘Daddy D’ FA s could see and look into? Have thought about sending info via mail to some inflight service manager, but do not know. any names or addresses
