Girl, I want a refund on being a woman.... periods are meetings that could have been emails.... Ive stood by that statement for 10 years, and I will continue to.

Hormones rule the world. Coming from a menopausal woman, this is a thing for a LONG time (sorry). Your body is still adjusting from getting the IUD out. It just takes a while. There are natural pms supplements and your doc might have some suggestions too. But it just takes time for your body to adjust. Your body is completely different after carrying a baby so you can’t really compare your cycle now to then. You shouldn’t have to suffer so look into pms remedies. But a healthy female body cycles every 28 days(ish). So take comfort in that - your body is doing what it’s supposed to do. Women are amazing - men couldn’t handle all this stuff! ❤️

Sooo I totally feel you, yes it fluctuates from month to month. I have months where I’m really evil, have snack attacks and break out, but the thing that helped me most was when my OB/GYN reminded me how beautiful the body is and this is your monthly reminder that everything is working as it should be. It was on odd comment at the time and obviously stuck with me. Perhaps the passion with which she delivered such a statement. Hopefully a change of perspective helps you going forward! You got this!

I think you are so amazing Lauren! You are in the awesome prime of your womanly life! Sometimes it takes a bit to get pregnant. I do sorely remember myself in those days finding my period when I was so hoping not to. PMS was also different in my thirties. I do think our rhythms get more intense for those 10 years but you are also awesome in so many ways! Strong, creative, can do 10 things at once, learning tons of things etc I think each decade is different for woman! You remind me so much of those years! We do it!

I freakin love you!! Everything I feel in my head during that time you just said. 😂😂 Your feelings are totally normal and YASSS it does suck to feel like this every damn month. But you will get through it and just know you are definitely not alone on how you feel like you're on a dang emotional rollercoaster lol. I wish you guys the best of luck on trying for Baby #2. ❤

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. I had a hysterectomy last year. I had the Mirena IUD and it made my periods worse, not better. They had found precancerous cells the year before that and it was just horrible every month. It was frustrating and miserable. I still get the symptoms though. The bloating, the cravings for food, headaches (though not every month). I hope they regulate for you soon.

Adding my story in case it helps someone in a similar situation: I have severe endometriosis. I used to be cursed every three or less weeks, it would last at least ten days, meaning I’d get just fifteen days without it every month, and it was so insanely heavy, I couldn’t leave the bathroom and it would cripple me; my body started shutting down. As for the pain. OMG. Worse than a kidney stone 100% and it wouldn’t let up for 3 days. I no longer had a life. I was 18 when it became that severe, and I just stayed at home in bed every day. No school. No work. Nothing. Just my bed or bathroom or shower floor. The only reason the endo was ever found, was because of my urologist. I was getting UTIs and kidney infections back-to-back-to-back nonstop. As soon as one cleared up, another started right away. She asked if anyone ever took images, and I said many. She pulled them up and was completely shocked. She said she thinks I have it because it looks like my reproductive organs were pushing on my bladder and ureters, so my body couldn’t flush anything out properly, causing the chronic infections. She said endometriosis doesn’t show on images, but I had it so severely, it was causing adhesions to many organs. I had a surgery, where he burned everything he could find away, which took a bit over four hours. I then had to make the difficult decision smith injections. They’re basically chemo. I had zero quality of life, and figured I had nothing to lose, so after tons of research, and going through a mandatory class over the phone from the drug company, I went for it. At 22 I went through chemically induced menopause. I would not wish what I went through for a year on anyone. As toxic as it was to the body, and, dare I say, torturous, it was so worth it. I immediately started on oral hormones after a year of the injections to stay in “menopause”. Despite all if that, I still had agonizing pain. I went in for a second surgery; the doctor was expecting to see a ton of adhesions again. Nope. Nothing. Nada. Clean as a whistle. He was in complete shock, as was I. He said it’s basically a one in a million outcome, to have those injections actually work, putting endometriosis into remission. GREAT! Buuuuut. I was having pelvic pain identical to a kidney stone 1-3x a day, every single day, lasting an hour each episode. I once actually had an obstructing kidney stone and didn’t know it, because I thought it was my normal pelvic pain (that radiates to my back, sides, and thighs). I suffered for years with no answers, stumping doctors. After years of endless research online with no answers, I became desperate. I started to think outside of the box, wondering if the pain was muscular or neurological. I explained my theory to my PCP, asked for physical therapy, and started the specialized therapy. It worked, but only gave me hours of relief each session. I did that for a year, 3x a week, while looking for other options. Upon more endless research, I stumbled upon hyperplexus nerve blocks, and asked my pain specialist about it; she then referred me to a different pain doctor (the only one that performs that very difficult procedure). Again, super risky, and no guarantee it would even work. I went for it out of desperation again. It worked!!!! For the first time in about ten years, I didn’t have severe pelvic pain, amongst other awful symptoms! It was the greatest few months! I was unstoppable! The downside is it is not permanent. It either didn’t work at all, works for a week, maybe six months, maybe a couple years. The second block I had, a year after the first, didn’t work nearly as well. In fact, it didn’t take as much pain away and only lasted a couple months. Still, better than nothing. I’ll take just one day without pain and always be so so so grateful for it, even if the block didn’t work, and the only relief I get is for a few hours from the iv concoction during the procedure.... fast forward to age 28. IBS been through every single treatment out there. Surgeries, numerous medications, therapies, nerve blocks, and even a TENS unit that I purchased. Sooooo my pain specialist agreed to approve me for a license for medical marijuana. I don’t want to comment here and advocate for something that may be a touchy subject, but, it was life-changing (or as I say, life-saving, because I was starting to not want to live anymore; the pain was and is that severe). Now, it’s only a band aid, works 90% of the time, is useless in the most of an attack, and only keeps the pain away for 6-8hrs, because I only take it at night so I can drive and function during the day, but again, it’s way better than 24/7 agony, blacking out, and getting sick to my stomach nightly. I’m only 29, but I’m going to be discussing a possible hysterectomy next year. I can’t have kids, because it’ll kill me (unrelated disease I have), so I’m hoping he will agree to it after discussing it with my geneticist, and not only will it hopefully help, but I can also get off deadly birth control/hormones....It’s insane what we as women go through, and I love that you make these videos so we know we’re not alone in this. That alone is so helpful! I love watching these videos and reading all of the comments. Who knows, maybe my story helps someone, giving them ideas to try, because absolutely no doctor had any answers for me. If I didn’t research and advocate for myself, I know I wouldn’t be here today.

Omg yesssss. I just finished mine and I swear we forget how crazy we feel when we’re not pmsing, if that makes sense lol. I honestly only get like 2-3 good days a month before the pms starts and my husband can attest to that 😂🙈 You just asked if having pms every month is normal as I’m writing this, so, yes, yes it is. It’s tough! It’s just hard to check yourself when you’re in the thick of it lol.

One more thing if you think about the fact that we have bad PMS for at least a week then a week on our periods that’s literally 2 weeks out of the month of either crazy or just in pain and yucky. The funniest thing is how do I forget every month that I’m not crazy lol. My husband may say different. Now that I am very aware I watch the calendar and I feel better just being aware and the doctor can give you medicine, but I take so many meds I just don’t want to add more.

Periods for me were the bane of my existence....like absolute misery from day one, no lie! Went through it all-the PMS, horrendous back and leg pain, cramps, heavy flow, you name it. Multiple procedures, D&C, hysteroscopy, etc. No help. BC pills not an option because I had a blood clot previously. At 42, my doc said, “I think it’s time”, and I agreed! The day of my hysterectomy, I did my happy dance all the way to the OR! Turns out, I had a massive fibroid tumor! No regrets, never looked back. No hormones, only an occasional hot flash. Life is good!, hang in there sis! This is just a season, “flow “ with it. (Did you see what I did there? Lol!)

I have Lupus, though, too, so I’m not sure what is PMS, what is Lupus and what is just plain going crazy at home with 3 girls under 7 (2 have ASD and ADHD)..... I'm on the far end of womanhood from you young girls, but I can honestly tell you --- I never hated it, and I cried so much when I realized I had crossed over into being an Old Cronnie and my monthly would never visit again. I do believe that all the stress of the pandemic is amplifying every thing! But I would encourage you to just embrace all the wonderousness of being female. > The female body is the very definition of being an eternal optomist! Every month she hopes she's preparing the body for pregnancy. She swells up and saturates every cell with water to sustain the new life, she makes you so hungry! She wants all the calories and all the nutrients because she is so sure life is coming! The longer you live under the natural light of the sun, the closer to the lunar cycle your cycle will become, and the longer/more time you spend with other women the closer your cycles will sync, you're all connected to the eternal optimism! Your body responds to the moon, the sun and the tide. You are miraculous! Then if pregnancy doesn't happen, she retreats, she cries, she lashes out, and she releases that hope and weeps. I'm sure I sound like a lunatic! But once when I was about 19 I met an old woman, that clued me in on all the optimism my body was capable of and she turned my attitude around. I'm forever in her debt.

Since I had my daughter nothing has been normal even being on birth control. They say it can take months for your hormones to go back to normal. When I do get my period now I don’t feel like doing anything and usually that’s a sign it’s coming along with my cravings change to wanting “healthy” food. I’ve also had cyst after my daughter that popped and that was HORRENDOUS. I’m with ya on the crappy feeling days

Agnus castus (a natural supplement) is what I swore by for quite awhile as I have terrible mood changes when I am PMSing (actually the whole months a wild ride) so I’d look into some natural remedies before going back on birth control. However be super careful if you don’t want to get pregnant as the reason I stopped taking them is because they can increase fertility and I am not out here trying to do that right now!

I have 1 day of horrible back pain, next day is horrible mood swings (usually end up screaming at someone for very little reason), then I have a day of “nesting” where I clean like a mad woman. Usually somewhere in this time I get period diarrhea. Then insomnia for 2 days right before I start my period. Once my period hits I am exhausted for 2-3 days and my period is super heavy then finally I feel like a normal person for a couple weeks before it starts all over again, ugh life as a woman SUCKS! Because of my diabetes meds I can’t even get on birth control so I just have to deal with it and hope my menopause comes soon ( I’m 45)

The PMS is the worst! I'm due on on Thursday and I've been so emotional. I'm separate from my boyfriend because he works for a hospital and I've spent the weekend just uncontrollably crying because all I want is a hug! I also have endo so the period cramps are horrendous! It makes each month just awful because it doesn't feel like you get enough down time in the middle! Being a woman sucks sometimes! Getting the massive baby fever that you talk about though!

My friend posted on Facebook once, "Why can't Mother Nature just send you a text?" "You are not pregnant, have a nice day!" I say every month hormones are EVIL. Mine isn't as bad as yours, but my PMS is so much worse than my period, I'm like waiting for it to start just so I can get it over with. For me, it's headaches, breast pain for up to 10 days, and bloating with water weight that is just ridiculous. Then it will literally start and stop for days ahead of time, so I'm paranoid. WHY?!

I literally go coo-coo for Co-Co puffs every month and I start thinking I’m having a mental break down and everything hurts and I get stiff in my joints from the fluid. I have always had bad periods but since having kids and I am 42 and had my son at 36 so all of that has made it so much worse. I even have laughed at myself for it. But yes it’s PMDD.

I know my period symptoms were more extreme when I was younger versus now...My periods were actually longer and very painful when I was younger whereas now they're 3 days shorter (they used to be 7 days for years :( I also have a friend whose days have decreased (i don't know if age has anything to do with this) I do have months where cramps are more painful and fatigue is beyond me (which makes me more irritable---b/c I have a low threshold for pain and turn into a creature when I'm tired) All that to say, it's completely possible that your body is responding differently than before and you didn't have the same severity prior to taking the bc (hopefully, it'll get better)

I still have my old period tracker (it’s free). Today is day 2698 of my cycle. Can’t say I’ve missed having periods. I’ve been very lucky to have pretty much no menopause symptoms.

I don’t know if it’s normal. I’ve never been on birth control. But it’s very random how my period will make me feel that month. Before kid and now. But everything you’re feeling is usually how I always feel. It’s heightened before and during pms. I’m sorry you’re going through it

I feel for you! Being a woman (in that aspect) is overrated. I would get mine for 3-4 weeks at a time for many years. That was rough but thankfully had a surgery that changed my life. If of course took away the ability for me to have biological children but it truly saved my sanity and my life. Hang in there sis-it will get better.

Sweetie I am 49 and two c-sections, PCOS with borderline hypothyroidism. After taking depo provera birth control shot back between children 94-2001 I had horrid periods before as teenager would miss school, work activities due to them. I might get a good week out of a month. Before I'd hit that swing all over again. After being diagnosed with PCOS my hard symptoms of pain heavy stuff made sense. As I hit the off birth control shot 2001 I had cysts so bad they said I would not ever get pregnant again. Jinx lol. Well 2003 my daughter was born. Surprise. Lol. My husband, after my son at almost eight , says why are you so upset it's just another child lol. Well she's our more spirited child never a full moment. A blessing for sure. But after depo shot my hormones seemed to come back to make up for the good years. I hope it gets better for you. You're might see if gyn Is willing to do more frequent hormone levels checks to see if there is maybe low dose birth control type med to keep the swing from being quite so violent. It's hard don't forget to give yourself a break when needed. It may be something that is expected as a female but give yourself understanding too. We are always easier on others going through it than ourselves

My hormones are crazy and the same as you before my period. I notice my attitude change every month the older I get. It's normal for PMS sorry love. I feel you about being over it. I'm 35 haven't had babies and just feel like we should have an on/off switch. Like you want to get pregnant flip the switch wait 3 months and baby dance. YAY!! I cry in the shower 1 week a month to deal with the P.M.S. monster
