Kinda similar to the BattleTech universe, where mercenary outfits and the Great Houses tended to obtain new BattleMechs by salvaging the wrecks of enemy 'Mechs in combat (as fully functional BattleMech factories were extremely rare, so salvaging battlefield wrecks was one of their only options) and then repairing/rebuilding them (so combatants would want to take out an enemy 'Mech with as little damage done to it as possible to cut down on the costs of repairing and refitting it for combat, and that would entail either destroying the head, destroying the center torso [referred to as "coring" a 'Mech, which sometimes made the 'Mech's reactor go critical and detonate], or destroying both legs), and such salvage rights were even a large part of a mercenary's contract, as they would negotiate for a certain percentage of battlefield salvage as part of their pay. And the most valuable salvage for BattleTech mercs would, by far, be "decapitated" 'Mechs that were otherwise "pristine", as such 'Mechs would pretty much only need a replacement cockpit (as the cockpits for BattleMechs were located in the head....There's even an in-universe phrase that embodies that mentality: *"Kill the meat, save the metal."* ....The BattleMechs themselves were commonly viewed as being more valuable than the lives of the pilots). There were even "FrankenMechs" (which were most often used by Pirates and the like) that tended to consist of multiple different 'Mech parts being cobbled together into a crude amalgamation/abomination.

Pretty damn impressive that he was able to defeat the Zong (Zeon's best MS from the OYW with seven decades worth of upgrades) when it was piloted by a champion newtype... ...and then escaped to Proxima Centauri in a converted space colony. Which is even referenced in Turn A! Hardly a bad ending for a boy who crashed the Zeta Gundam into the ceiling in his first appearance...

The Wing Zero would also predict all of the Rex's movements. I doubt the Rex would stand a chance.

@@rpsyco Yeah, I'm guessing you never actually watched Iron Blooded Orphans. Because you seem to not know just how maneuverable the Barbatos Lupus Rex was, especially in space. And I think even the Zero System would have trouble keeping up with it. And the buster rifle isn't exactly a regular beam rife that can just fire shot after shot in really quick succession. I bet it could only be fired like twice, before having to recharge.And it's really only good against mass enemies and or things like "capital ships" and space stations.

The Lupus Rex never showed anything onpar with the Wing Zero, even in space. In fact, the Vidar would've destroyed it when those two fought without outside intervention. Name one fight where the Rex was agile enough to even compete with a transformable mobile suit in terms of maneuverability. I mean the Reginalaze essentially outmaneuvered it when those two fought. Once again, the Hashmal's beam almost destroyed a mobile suit in a single shot, and it was barely able to destroy a village. The beam also didn't last as long. The buster rifle was used in succession I'm Endless Waltz and in its debut it was used 4 times in a row without being exhausted. Please don't want if you have no idea what you're talking about.

OH MY GOSH! That explains so much about the Narrative gundam. They never really fully covered that in the movie, so it was bothering me why it looked so incomplete and old. And when it turned out there was a core fighter I was so confused. Makes so much more sense now. Thank you.

Gundam Frames from IBO was superior to the newer machines because they eere made from high technology that was lost after the collapse. Basically their synchronized dual Ahab Reactors gave them huge raw energy output. The downside was that the output was unstable (this was noted to be the reason they didn't make many of them) because the reatorsnmust be kept in sync all the tkme but this unstable unreliable is almost never shown in the anime except for Mikazuki's battle against later on early in Season 1.

While most of them were Zaku 2s, the commander of the Suicide Team, Gavane Goonny, used a black painted Zaku 1 until it was to damaged to operate. While they were basically useless 9/10, they could still take on Moonrace support craft and units.

This kind if happened in crossbone. The Jupiter Empire found Amuro's old core fighter and used its combat data, learning, computer and scans of Amuro's brain waves to make a new type super computer Cross Bone Gundam X-2 variant called the Amakusa

Unless the pilot was a prodigy the RX-78 would lose against grunt units, before it's final battle Zeon already had mass produced units that were considered stronger than it, however at that point of the war Amuro's skill and experience compensated it in spades and they were no match for the RX-78.

the rx-78 wasnt anything special by the end of the 1yw. on the contrary, it was borderline outdated when compared to the gelgoog. the reason it was able to not only survive the war, but destroy the zeong was due to Amuro, along side the tweaks to make the machine able to keep up with him.

@@Hektols It was more that Zeon had lost most of it's veteran pilots by that stage of the war, so they were forced to stick inexperienced recruits into their brand-new and state-of-the-art Gelgoog, which specs-wise was superior to the RX-78-2, but Amuro's experience and Newtype abilities gave him the edge over the inexperienced Zeon pilots who lacked the skill to really bring out the best of the Gelgoog. My the final battle of the war, Zeon only had a handful of it's Ace pilots, like Johnny Ridden left....and some of their other Aces were stuck on Earth just trying to hold out at Cape Canaveral base while waiting for the war to end, as shown in Code Fairy, with the entire Nosy Fairy team and several other Aces being there trying to just hold the line and survive the Federation onslaught long enough for the war to end and the fighting with it.

I'm starting to think that the upgrade from Barbatos to Barbatos Lupus is less that Mika was too much for the suit to handle and more that they wanted to be able to bring out the same combat effectiveness of the Barbatos vs Graze Ein without having to further paralyze Mika. Lupus to Lupus Rex would be somewhat the same but at the same time making repairs and compensating for Mika's barehanded fighting style.

Mc Flurry literally they use same technology as in gundam . Even its just pseudo gn drive. But its still quite powerful. And in the movie awakening of the trail blazer show that GN-Tau to can use the gn burst mode. Activated the gn shield and use as they beam weapon. So yeah. GN-X Rock!

Unless you have the celestial being gundams (the ones with trans-am), the wing zero, freedom/strike freedom, or any of the unicorn gundams. All of them are very high performance machines and experienced pilots. Most of them would probably be able to beat the barbatos by pinning it down with heavy fire power

You could say that barb beam resistant armor may be a deciding factor if barb were against something like cherudim,dynames but I'm pretty sure barb will get trash if it were up against exia or 00 raiser. 00 raiser and exia has shown many FTE and extremely high mobility capability during trans am. Not to mention raiser could use teleportation.

The Double Zeta is so good I use it all the time in Super Robot Wars. After having seen Double Zeta I have to say it's not nearly that bad. I really like Judau as a character. Nu Gundam pretty much takes the cake though for power but of course that's due to Amaro. And of course the Unicorn would have to be on a list of dangerous Gundams.

In my school vr game the barbatos lupus Rex is a unstoppably powerful boss and a fearsome beast where it is on the hunting list at hunters haven around all the in game bases anyway it was the unit you play as against the 00 goalius boss fight where you team up with a harsh mal woken up by 00 goalius Manoeuverability and helped by fluttershy but even when mobile suits resurrected by time will die someday where after the wayjohn balsita volley ( older and more powerful version of the dainsleft from iron blooded orphans) ripped both the revolutionary and tekkadon apart the harsh mal was destroyed by the fox spirit and the devil of tekkadon was killed by the windigo a ultra beast created mobile beast ( a mobile beast is as strong as 5 mobile armours)

The Barbatos got NUKED by a weapon that was so powerful that it was BANNED. Not only that, the Barbatos SURVIVED and took out a squad or like 4 grazes (it has been a while since I watched that scene) and then eventually died. God the Barbatos was badass.

My favorite outdated Gundam is the Crossbone X10 which in UC 182 fought to bring an end to oppressive mobile games that had a stranglehold on the KZbin Sphere due to apathy and corruption within the ranks of KZbin itself which made legitimate content creators easy prey. The Crossbone X10 fought valiantly and became a symbol of hope and rebellion within the KZbin Sphere that led to the end of scummy mobile games along with their influencer allies.

Its a bio computer with Amuro's flight data as a programming base. Sadly that even involved his final flight log( escaping Aboua Cue with no optics) so add Newtype simulacrum abilities and the bio computer was able to destroy any machine piloted by non new types.

I'm still waiting for their excuse to release the other Gundam Frames not covered in the series and manga. I mean IBO gives them at least 72 reasons for Gunpla not counting variants or upgrades. What I found of interest was Hashmal was supposedly another name for the chief of the order of angels Marchosias originally belonged to. So seeing it similarly adopt parts from the Mobile Armor would've been cool I think, like the head as a shield mimicking perhaps Banshee's crossed with Wing along with the tail to tie in the wolf aesthetic, maybe give it wings like Wing Zero EW to top it off. Instead we got Hajiroboshi which I'm still waiting to hear on its Vidar like cover up.

Bruh. Deadass. I just realized this NOW Episode 1 of Gundam IBO. The one where Barbatos is being used for generator purposes. Its like a demon, being sealed away, and leeching off of its power by its captors. When the time came where the crew had faced an inevitable fight, they let loose the demon in exchange for power, and fight back. Holy shit. IBO's story eventually makes fucking sense. The beginning, the climax, the end. Its a bitter story of the pride and the fall.

Remember his fleet INSTIGATED the Dort Massacre! Julietta is a puppet, nothing more, or less. 2 years old, destiny is set 2 years after seed. i would still put it on the list, since MS technology is like dogs when it comes to age. and, there's an argument to be made that its nuclear reactor, while perfectly fine and capable of producing more power than the vast majority of suits in the series, was already outdated.

Marcos Danilo the reactor was what made the original freedom able to out perform newer machines yet it was still a little less advanced. It was Kira’s tendency to aim for non lethal hits and the advanced features of the impulse (namely its ability to replace damaged parts while in combat) that allowed for the impulse to destroy the original freedom, it also didn’t hurt that shinn was also a very good pilot (he was probably the second or third best pilot in Gundam Seed/Destiny behind Kira and Athrun)

that's not really what i was pointing, by the way, there are a few other reasons why kira lost, he was facing the entire army that were aiming to take the archangel down. also shin trained specifically against the freedom in order to counter kira's piloting manerisms.
