Things happen when they are supposed to happen. It's nothing we do or don't do. People come into our lives at appointed times for appointed reasons. It's designed to draw us closer to God. God's goal is that we die to ourselves and what we want and to come in line with what He wants.

Yes, God has a sovereign plan, but "It's nothing we do or don't do" goes against a lot of Scripture, like Galatians 6:7-9 which states we reap what we sow.

That’s actually not true cause we have free will to choose whether to cheat or be loyal to the person, it has everything to do with what we do as an individual. Like the comment about Galatians 6:7-9 very true. The only way to have fulfillment for love and in any situation in this world is through Christ.

Man's will is constantly getting in the way of these so-called appointed times. I don't know of a scripture that says that all things happen at an appointed time. God often has to wait on man to be ready before He can do what He may have wanted to do much earlier.

@spacekitten4225 A life fully submitted to the will of God will not want to choose things that are not of Him. The book of James references this. What I'm saying is that your free will becomes limited when you submit to God. In Roman's it says left to our own devices we will always choose sin. If you're doing things that are in line with God and then something bad happens, it was to teach you something. Perhaps the next relationship you won't make the same mistakes. Again, a life fully submitted to God, you won't want to sin.

Our ability to choose can take us of course, but if we are born again believers we will return to God's plan. The book of James says, don't say you will go here or there, but only if the Lord wills. There are countless scriptures that refer to what I'm saying.

And you’re not alone. Just know the writers of too many books pad out their books with repetitive uninteresting information to get the word count up and make a teeny subject into a book….then lose your interest. It’s them not you!. So read the chapters you are interested in, in no particular order, then you may be curious to read the bits that link them. Or not! You may have got the good bits. And skim reading helps too - read the first bit of a chapter then the end and you’ll get the point of each section then because that’s how writers write them. Good reading! And think of all the books you have finished to the end!

@@hamerful yes I have had boyfriends in the past, but for one reason or another, things just didn't work out. I think God knew none of those men were right for me, I have never been married. It's been very tough to endure but worth it in the end when I finally met Mr Right!

After an 11yr relationship I’ve been single for a year now, and it’s pretty painful. I’m not going to hide that but I’ve found rest in Our Lord. I’ve prayed this prayer many times when I see tons of other couples around me happy and I’m the only single one. God please take away the pain and sorrow of being alone please help me my Father in Heaven In Jesus Christs name I pray amen. He is so good to me he takes the pain away.

Hi Mark. I avoided watching your videos for a long time because the titles were so clickbait-y and made me think you would be offering really bad advice, but I have watched a lot of them now, and every one has been wise, loving, sensible, and biblical, so thank you. I think the first one I watched was titled something like "How God shows you The One(tm) that you will marry", and because I don't believe that there is a romantic ideal The One I avoided watching it for a long time, but then when I did I found a very clear gentle explanation for why you don't believe in a romantic ideal The One either.

I've been thinking a lot about someone that I started spending a lot of time together but the pastor separate us even from sitting near to each other in church, he have me a couple reasons why he did it i agree with one of them but the main one i don't, and it was because the age, even that is a big gap between ages, she's very wise and mature and a godly young woman. And as much as I ask God to take this feeling away, I steal see her, and my heart raises, even now just writing this.😢

God isn't a matchmaker. He doesn't care who we end up with, as long as we are equally yoked. God has a world to deal with, rather than be concerned about little ol' you.

On the contrary, God is most deeply and intimately invested in our needs and desires. When we obey Him, He assumes responsibility for them, actually. If He didn't care that much, why would His word tell us to petition Him with prayer and fastings? Are we not living in the very world that He's holding in His hands? Just because He knows what we're thinking doesn't mean He doesn't want us to prayerfully make our requests known to Him. I agree that He isn't necessarily a matchmaker, but if He doesn't want us yoked up with the wrong person, by definition that would make Him a better judge of who we should be with who we _ourselves_ think we should be with, right?

For some time now I thought God's will is for me to remain single. I thought I needed to let go of my desire for marriage, that He believes it's better for me to remain alone, just God and I alone. But... He also said it wasn't good for man to be alone. So which one is it then? I'm so confused, should I pursue to give up on hoping to be married or should I still let my request for marriage be known to Him in prayer? I don't even know how to pray anymore... I know He is able to bless me with marriage if He so wills, but it's His will that will be done, regardless of how much I want something. Why is it not good for man to be alone if the Bible also says that for some it is better to be alone? Which one is it then 🤷🏻‍♀️? I don't know, at this point in my life it just much easier to give up than keeping my hopes up.

God said it's not good for man to be alone. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 7, says its his opinion, not a command to be alone so that you can better focus on the Lord.

The verse in Genesis still resonates with how relationships are structured today. If you have a strong and specific want to marry, you can continue to ask God to accord it to you, for His divine help, to find your Eve. The desire to be with someone is a natural one, God who created us made us in a way, to want a social bond. Some of course are eunuchs and are proscribed to devout singleness, but if desires to marry are there, I wouldn’t assume it is wise to shut them off. Marriage is a canal that expresses the highest of our Christian virtues; love and forgiveness. Don’t feel bad for wanting to marry, don’t give up the hope🙏🏾.

it's not very common but some are like that. I don't want kids either and I'm frequently told that it's wrong, but I can't find any biblical reasoning for that. I think it's possible to find a spouse still but probably a lower chance, unfortunately.

I can be honest, I can trust-ish, I can communicate, but.... Living in sexual sin most my life, what if I still have that insecurity and still feel like even sex in marriage is still sinful? Yes, I know in marriage it isn't sinful but what if I still feel like it is even if it's not? What if she pretends to be satisfied yet isn't?? That alone would make me regret deeply getting married. Women can easily pretend to be satisfied and make it believable..
