That's also how I remember it. Went to the bowling alley arcade with my friends just to play it. So I already had experience with the game before it came out.

10:24 I have to tell this story every time I see this game mentioned. When I got my SNES, saved up for it, we went to Toys R Us and they were getting rid of all their NES games for like $4.99. Not behind glass, just a huge bin, and there were a ton of Little Samson. Had I known I would have said 'screw the SNES I'm just spending all my money on copies of Little Samson!' We almost got it anyway, our local rental place had it and we loved it. What makes it worse is if I would have gotten my SNES when everyone else did I wouldn't have this memory, I got mine a year or so after everyone else. Mine came with Link to the Past and it was the last one with that game. Oh well, not a bad memory, it is like friend that was always collecting this stuff on the internet for fun, bitcoin or some weird thing. That happened to me also.

Tiny Toons and Little Nemo hold a special place in my heart I rented these games countless times, both are great gotta love the 80's and 90's
@AngryCalvin2 ай бұрын
Both great and memorable rentals for me also. Little Nemo got plenty of hype from Nintendo Power and a commercial but didn't get anywhere near the success it deserved. It's one of the greatest NES games ever made! Tiny Toons is Konami so of course it's good. If anyone else made the game it would have been just another generic franchise game. I think the only thing Konami did wrong was the LazerScope and I happened to have one I got on clearance.

Reminds me of Albert's Oddessey on Saturn. The North American released somebody was trying to sell for a thousand dollars. The Japanese version, I bought for eleven dollars. I later got ahold of a repro, with jewel long case and all of that, for far less than a thousand. Thus, if a game gets too expensive, the gray market thrives.

I have a copy of Panic Restaurant that I bought for five bucks at a pawn shop in Alaska. Thinking back to the early 2000’s when shops would have HUNDREDS of NES games for $2-$5 each makes my heart drop sometimes.

I got my CIB copy of Little Samson for $5 back in the summer of 98 when my uncles local rental place liquidated all of their NES games to make room for DVD's and Disk based games. Also got Final Fantasy 1 CIB, CIB Crystalis, as well as a few others.. All for $5 each.

I was one of the first kids in America to play Mario 3. Back in late 88, a kid from China or Japan moved in down the street. And he had a weird video game system with a game I'd never seen before where Mario could fly. It was awesome. I told all the kids about it at school, but no one believed me. Then later in 89 we all saw Wizard which showed off Mario 3, etc. Decades later, I found out that kid must of had a Famicom with the Japan version of Mario 3. Mario 3 is still my favorite game of all time!
@JohnRiggs2 ай бұрын
I love stories like that. I knew someone else, too, who had the friend with a famicom. Crazy to think that, back then, Japan would get games that far in advance but they sure did.
@colt51892 ай бұрын
@@JohnRiggs Yeah, it was fun playing a secret Mario game that no one knew of. Though I never could get far into the game as they only had one TV. And we'd only get to play when his parents went into the kitchen to eat. I still remember the oriental smells from their food. And so I'd only get to play for like 20-30 minutes at a time. And would have to start over each time. And I knew nothing of the game, so I'd explore each level trying to find the secrets, etc.

Amazing how little correlation there is these days between the quality of a game and its price. After having never played Little Nemo as a kid, I picked up a copy on E Bay for $20, including shipping. That game would be a good buy at $500. Conversely, I have games that I paid 10x more for, which plainly suck.

I would say Little Samson kind of deserves to be higher than Flintstones because IMO Flintstones doesn't really control all that well in comparison. I prefer a cheap game like Big Nose the Caveman for my prehistoric NES fix. What's great about unlicensed NES is that a lot of NES collectors disregard them which helps keep their prices down some. But some of them are really great like Tengen Ms. Pac-Man.
@danielespeziari55452 ай бұрын
You inspired me to play the original Mega Man (again) yesterday night, and I think it still has a lot of charm, although it's a bit lacking compared to its sequels. The point system is useless, some weapons (Bombman's and Gutsman's) are useless or not fun to use outside of boss encounters, there are no extra characters (no Rush, no Protoman), the music isn't nearly as good as MM2 or 3 (but it still has charm), stages are pretty short, there are only 6 Robot Masters instead of 8.... So yeah, it's certainly not the best in the series, but the fun and the challenge are there. Oh, and the PAL box art is actually awesome

Tiny Toons is Konami so it's really good. Really cool gameplay and fun game. I don't have this one in my collection either. Little Nemo is my priority but this just might come after. Little Sampson looks like a great game. Appears on almost every underrated game list. I rented a ton of games back in the day but somehow missed this one.
