People knock derringers, but fact is that even in a pat down, nothing beats my prison purse carry style. The trick though is to wear tear-away pants, either the athletic sweatpants style or for formal occasions men's stripper pants work. And while you may think that the draw takes a lot longer than appendix carry, in fact ripping your pants over and reaching in your ass can distract your attacker long enough to bring the firearm to bear. Its the element of surprise that gives you the tactical advantage.

To be fair, number one doesn't necessarily apply if you're a fat guy (like me) who constantly has you pull the back of your shirt down to keep the streets crack free. Watching further, number four also might not apply if you just make jeans your yearly pants fashion. My legs will blind you with how white they are, so I need to keep them covered lest I get cited for improper high beam use.

I carry almost everyday but since I have an athletic build I carry a G43 with a MIC in a front p=or back pocket. I have carried so long that I don't even notice it or act differently. However I have to remember when going on base or post to leave it home since I can't carry it there. When going to the post office I leave it in the vehicle or if I am teaching at school locked up in the vehicle. I read about these jokers buying larger pants so they can carry some hand cannon with 3 extra mags. Most of these guys are fat so that might be an excuse for loose fitting clothes but I agree that carrying a weapon if you do it long enough is seamless. The only time my liberal friends ever ask me if I am carrying a weapon is when we are coming out of a movie or store late at night and some guys that are rough looking hanging about. Then I get asked and when I say yes they are relieved. Never had to draw my weapon so far and hope I never don't have to but being prepared is better than being a victim.

As a woman, I've had some difficulties concealing on my body. I now have a solution, but it took me over a DECADE to figure things out fully. I've NEVER done any of the things in your video but there have been times it was very obvious I was carrying on my hip because we women have very different hips than men and so many things are designed for MEN who carry. They FINALLY have more options for us women but they still aren't perfect most of the time. The butt of my gun was VERY obvious and this is also due to women's fashion. I didn't want to dress in men's clothing to be able to properly conceal. Thankfully, it was only the summer months I had a lot of difficulty. In the winter, hoodies, coats, sweaters, etc. make it MUCH easier.

Jim C Oh, that's pretty awesome! I didn't get a wrap style but I did recently get one that makes carrying at the low back (or ANYWHERE else I choose) very easy and it's leaving ZERO imprint. I started off using Kydex because that's what I had been given by my husband when we purchased the gun (he carried the G19 for awhile before I took it as my EDC because he wanted a different caliber), but it was OWB and it made it so obvious I was carrying. I didn't realize HOW obvious it was until I was out one day at the mall and just happened to walk past a mirror at just the right angle. It didn't imprint very much at all on his very long, toned body. When I put it on my female hip (and our hips DEFINITELY change once we've had children LOL) it rested right against my hip bone and made the butt ride out from my side entirely too far. I've only been using my newest holster for about 3 months now but I feel MUCH more comfortable that it's IWB and sits much closer to my body. It has taken me years of buying different holsters to find a great fit. I think for MOST women, carrying a G19 OWB on the side is not a great idea unless they are in police or guard uniform because it's just nearly impossible to conceal it enough, especially after having children. I can't think of what it's called at the moment but it's a Tagua and anywhere I tuck it on my body, the material it's made of has that grippy texture, so it never slides out when I draw. At least I've had no issues at the range thus far. I also like this style because I can easily pocket carry since I'm in Indiana and we have cold, nasty winters often and I can easily just drop it in my purse if I choose. Probably telling you more than you care to know but I've been really pleased with it so far and if just one woman gets on here and sees our convo, maybe it will help them with the same issue I've had. I am curious which holster you got for your gf, but only when it's safe for you to post it. 😉 Don't want her to find out TOO much before Christmas if she gets on KZbin. LOL Thank you for actually taking the time to read my comment and respond. Doesn't happen often and sometimes a little bit of KIND advice is all that's needed. I'm always looking for more options for carrying. Oh, the other thing that's helped TREMENDOUSLY Is I've gone to the single stack G43. I keep the bigger boy around, just in case but I don't divulge to anyone where that one is carried. Our local gun shop got in a new ankle holster I've been curious about, so I'm going to go check that out as yet another option. I'm probably a bit nuts but depending on how I'm dressed, I do like to have options.

My first advice after my first year off ccw carry and carrying while and because I was being criminally stalked is to first and foremost quit worrying that everyone is looking for the gun. The big mistake I made early on was wearing an IWB holster and thinking I really needed a shirt 6 Sizes too big to cover it. Do not dress so as to look abnormal. Do not worry so much. During the worst of the stalking I carried two guns. The threat was severe and police were useless. I carried a 9mm taurus pt111 g2 in a pocket holster and a Ruger sr9 in a chest band or IWB under my coat during winter. I had 3 extra mags on me too as there was a group of them. They tried to corner me physically at least twice and forced me to draw on them during one of those. It was kind of funny to see the look and body language on them when I drew that SR9 on the thug closest to me. He never knew I had it. I told them simply that if they ever bother either me or my kin again that I will kill them and their families. In that encounter I was at my mothers house and was outside letting her dogs do their business late at night before heading home. She lives on 10 acres of rural land. I walked her little Boston terrier around the corner of the garage outside and he suddenly began snarling. I suddenly saw that I had 3 people at my 9, 12, and 3 o'clock positions advancing on me. They were signaling one another with Led lights. They kept advancing on me in a triangulation type pattern. I tried to back off and get to the house but my mother's brave little boy dog was digging in his heels and I would have had to struggle with him to get us away. So instead of withdrawing, I pushed the dog down under my car's bumper and backed off a couple feet to put the aggressors at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock in a position of not having a shot at me which left only the thug at my 22 o'clock. I drew on him and had him dead to rights with that sr9 at about 25 yards with that sr9. He stopped and looked too shocked to even move. I then told him I would kill them and their kin if they came a step closer or ever fucked with me again or my mother as they had been stalking her too. The reason I did not shoot was that they made no attempt to go for a weapon. I think they had intended a beat down and to terrorize. Hence flashing LED lights to show each other their positions and scare me. They turned and ran off. I am glad they did. The lesson I wanted to add here is that most thugs are fucking cowards and having to draw does not mean you will have to shoot. I thank god that little Boston sensed them and that I was armed. I still do not know who this group is. I am not a criminal and have no debts to thugs or anything weird. A group of thugs has been following me for about a year now. I tell all this so that new carriers understand that even these thugs never knew I had it until it was too late and lived only because I respect life and did not want to kill 3 young men if I did not have too. I already qualified for my permit due to a hunters safety course and a NRA pistols course in my youth. I had shot pistols all my life from 9 years old through my twenties but at 43 had fallen out of practice. I trained and trained and trained to get my skills back and learn to draw quickly from concealment and shoot accurately. I had to do this all while being stalked. Yet I still made some beginners mistakes about actual carrying concealed. It can make you nervous to carry a gun at first. Resist any urge to keep touching that gun in public. Perform safety checks on it in places where you will not be seen doing so. Then know it is fine and let it be. I mostly had to carry all day so yes I did check the safety position and position in holster several times a day but always in private and without drawing the weapon or really messing with it. It is not a toy and does not make you a man. It is a tool for protection of yourself and other innocents. That is all. It is not a penis extender. Quit touching it. Always remember that that gun is there for you but that your true safety lies in your intelligence and use of good sense. And use a pistol of a size that you will carry every day. A 45 acp full size 1911 is not always practical and requires a slight bit more maintenance and skill to carry. Carry what aims naturally in your hand for you as you will need to be good at both point and sight aiming. At very close range you will not have time in a fight to draw perfect and line up sights. Learn to to point shoot. Take the time. I had a fair amount of lifetime handgun experience but still fired over a thousand rounds training with both guns getting my skills back again as it had been a decade since I stopped shooting handguns in my late 20s. I told some old vets at the gun range what was going on and they gave me some training and some tips. I did not have enough money for any pistol combat classes so had to train myself with some help and advice from old combat vets and retired cops. It has been quite an experience.

So what's going to happen next time when they come back with a gun? Nice story and good for you I just don't know, but I probably would have acted similarly and left them run off. Tough call and as long as they don't come back I guess it was the right one.
@heartfire4518 жыл бұрын
The next time they pull a move like that the terms are kill or be killed. I will treat it as a military situation and neutralize the threat. They received their warning this time. I could see them just well enough under the moonlight and the moon's glare off the snow on the ground to tell that they were young. Late teens to early twenties. I hate to bust a cap on anyone, much less some drugged up dip shits someone hired who are that young. But my slide safety was off and the slack was up on the trigger. Had any of them continued to advance or had the good in my sights attempted to draw anything I would have shot him several times and then probably gone into a military mindset and got myself in trouble by running down and killing the other two. I see such situations as simply acts of war being committed against me or mine and feel a perfect right to respond in a military manner. I am not a veteran but most of the men in my family were so I guess that is where I get my way of thinking and yet their honest hatred of war and killing is also a part of why I did not shoot. The stalking seems to have backed off some. There are a few possible reasons why it happened. I am a hardcore constitutionalist who hates my governments behavior of late. I have a very bad father(not one of the men mentioned earlier) who promised vengeance on me when I interfered with his plans years .ago to murder my mother and steal a large amount of cash and collect on a life insurance policy he had on her. I also live in cheap apartments near a bunch of drug dealers and other trash and there seems to be a cadre of child molesters around here too and I let one convicted child rapist who lives in my apartment complex know that I would kill him if he ever messed with a kid around me. So maybe I pissed off a group of them. If so then it will be my pleasure to shoot next time they line up to attack me. I have led a strange life but the truth is that I myself have always been an honest and decent hard working man. But I have often pissed off the criminal crowd because I do not take their shit and have tended to tell them off.

You insult my avatar? Wow that is some type of childish. Anyway I got buddies who carry 1911s and I cant see it man, you have so many other options to choose from even in that caliber. The weight of one of those things is double that of a polymer .45 on top of that beaver tail poking that must be poking your stomach all the time. Also your reply proves that your a next level jackass, I could be your best buddy ever and you instantly go keyboard warrior on me because of my avatar. Just saying! Have a great Thanksgiving.

Blackjack, well my channel has been overrun with brony retards who have never carried a gun outside their mother's basement, so my patience is really thin. And I carry a 1911 because I have the time, resources and expertise to keep them running.

How about don't attempt to conceal carry the largest heaviest gun known to man. Namely the venerable 1911. Mostly kidding, but there are far better guns for concealed carry.
@theevillekid81187 жыл бұрын
Greg Krest see at least someone has a sense of humor lol. Agreed there are better guns for concealed carry, but in the end it comes down to personal preference. Some people like Glock, and I even know a few who have sworn by Hi-Points all their life. The best gun to carry is the one that works for you.

Some of us are limited in what we can comfortably use. I have huge hands (2x glove size) and shooting anything that isn't full sized has been an unpleasant experience for me. I don't have a vast experience with a variety of guns so maybe there's something out there I haven't found yet but for the most part, if it isn't full sized I don't want to use it. My most comfortable pistol I ever owned was a S&W Model 29 with a 6" barrel. It had a massive grip on it and I loved it. Unfortunately, a bad accident has caused nerve damage in my neck and I can't comfortably shoot it for long periods of time and so had to get rid of it.

I found it pretty funny that the ad I watched for this video was a dosomething .org campaign against concealed carry on college campuses, which of course oversimplified it to be "guns on campus = gun violence on campus," with the reactions of a few college kids and no statistical facts to back up their assumptions. I visited their youtube channel, and it seems that not many people like their anti-gun videos (5 likes to 50+ dislikes lol). I hope they paid you well for my click haha

If I feel like I'm having a "bad day", I make sure to put my pistol away in the trunk of my car. The last thing I need is to explain to an officer that I shot a man because he didn't say excuse me before pushing past me to refill his Coke in McDonald's.

I used to just use a hip holster and let my shirt hang over it. Im not trying to CC or open carry. Never had an issue anywhere in Virginia.... then I moved to TX..... now I actively CC.... to many people here get upset... and there are way to many sketchy things that go down in Houston for me to not want a weapon at the ready.

I'm glad you did this video, some people don't do what you have said, one person at my job, (i do unarmed security work at an office complex) and a lawyer with a concealed carry ...left a loaded 45 in the men's room bathroom stall...another office worker found it and called security, another security officer got there first ,bagged it and called the police, they gave him a nice talking about safety.

wheres the logic? where is it? i'd rather keep pulling my shirt down, than to have my shirt ride up, and have someone actually see my weapon. they can guess all they want,on why i keep pulling my shirt down,but if i don't pull it down,and my shirt rides up, then the wholeeee world will see that i am carrying a weapon. they won't be guessing,because i'm pulling my shirt down. they'll know because my shirt rode up,and they seen it. plus, i see people straighten out, and pull on their shirt all the time, ppl that i know isn't carrying. Ouuu, or what about if my shirt rides up,and i don't even know it? that can happen to anybody......logic...

plane45036 I wouldn't carry a 1911 if I plan on being around people, since they tend to have such a limited magazine capacity. I carry one when I'm hunting but that's a different story, I'm not planning on running into anything that's gonna take a mag from a 1911 and keep going. I have it as more of a mercy gun most of the time. When I'm in town I carry an SD9VE

I always stick mine in my pocket after entering the stall that way no one can see it through the large gaps at the bottom of the stall walls. It has the added bonus of me not forgetting it on the TP holder or toilet tank as even if I do forget to put it back in my IWB it's not a big deal since it's in my pocket. I carry an LC9 with a 9rd extended mag and carry the original 7rd as well. Just small enough that it fits in my pocket but large enough that I notice when pulling my pants back up that it's in the pocket instead. I don't want someone being able to reach under the stall divider and grab it while i'm mid push on a 5 holler foot long.

I'm a left handed 55 yr old woman first time gun owner with no experience other than the online safety course and test I took. After watching hundreds of gun tutorials on you tube. I made my choice to buy a s&a m&p 2.0c 4 inch. Thinking a little more extreme than just concealed carry and home defense to what if shtf. Definitely want high capacity. I can purchase with or without the thumb safety. My thoughts have changed from having a manual safety now no manual safety. Reason being is if time is of the essence ,life or death I dont want to be on the losing end by a matter of seconds. Is there advice you have in regards to decision buying without manual safety. I would appreciate any advice or tips you may have. Thank you for the video and your time. God bless you and yours.

What about carrying a cannon full size for ab carry? I use too I'm guilty.. why not carry a 9mm subcompact with one plus clip, more rounds less exposure. Two to the chest will put the biggest of them down and you not imprinting.

I do all of these terrible things, and I have had a couple of issues with people in the past when I was forced to use my firearm to save myself. 3 actually that I recall. These issues never came up, I check my firearm because a couple of weeks ago I got a new Fobus holster that is for use with a light and laser. The first time I got into my truck I noticed that I had no magazine because it just felt too light in weight. Luckily it was still in the driveway of my home and I never got more than a few blocks away. I am looking for a different option but for now I check my magazine, and it has been an issue. I know, I know get a new holster so I ordered one today. Till it gets here I'm going to keep checking. I did try switching to a Glock 22, but still had the same issue. Anyway I am not a newbie. I have been carrying for 30 years. I am new to concealed carry, and there lies the rub.

I live in a state where printing isn't an issue as long as no part of the gun or holster is visible. One thing I have noticed is that when I appendix carry my 1911 is that people's eyes go straight to my waist and they make it a point to avoid me like the plague. The way I see it is that criminals are looking for victims, not a fight, so if they see the butt of my pistol under my shirt they'll look for a victim elsewhere.

I live in Pennsylvania so printing is not an issue for me unlike say Florida or some other states where printing is actually not allowed by law, so when i vacation in Florida i carry a small gun such as my Glock 26 or Kahr CW9 that conceals very easily, but your points are very valid, i never do any of them , once my gun goes on i never touch it until it comes off.
