Teravainen played under a season and a half with Chicago at age 19-21, posted 35 points in his first full season in the Windy City then went to Carolina where he scored 7 more points in 3 more games. He didn’t turn things around after the trade that was roughly the same points per game, he was a developing player still at that age in Chicago, everyone knew his potential was higher then his current level of play. It took until he was 23-24 to start posting first line/ elite numbers. The trade had really nothing to do with it.

Blake Wheeler: Bruins traded him in his 3rd year after two years of sputtering as a middle of the line-up forward. He put up 21G 24A for 45P in his rookie year and followed that up with 18G 20A for 38P and 18-26 for 44P (only 27P of which were for Boston) in his next 2 seasons. Then became a Winnipeg Jet and hasn't scored less than 60P since, (Except for the lockout shortened year in which he put up 41P in 48GP) including a pair of 91 point seasons the past 2 years. The Bruins unfortunately have a history of dealing young forwards just before their prime and almost always for pennies on the dollar. See Thornton, Seguin and Wheeler
