I had a lump come up over my thyroid area/collarbone and I thought it might be a goiter. Upon my research I read to find out if it’s a goiter or not, take iodine. If the lump goes down in size, more than likely it’s a goiter. I took extra iodine and it went down, so there you go. Thank you for the wonderful information as well.

There were a few supplements I purchased that were hard to get down.. One was chlorella (algae) which is very similar to seaweed but it's like drinking water out of a fish tank (and I don't mean a clean one either). Another was turmeric . I don't dislike turmeric or curried stews etc. but they aren't my favorite either. A good solution is to purchase a capsule filling device and pack capsules of turmeric yourself. I don't mind curry or that flavor, but now I can have it whenever. I've packed over a dozen different supplements that I no longer have to "hide" the flavor of in something else. That's a big time saver on keto. Of course, it's not as good as fresh wild caught salmon, but it's lots better than nothing!

If you have Hashimoto's, iodine supplements can be very toxic to you. You should only take them with a doctor's supervision AFTER checking serum iodine levels to see where you really are at. Getting iodine through your foods is what you really want to do.

I use almond milk with 2 teaspoons of heavy whipping cream. I'm on the keto diet. I mix it with tumeric extract, not powder because of oxalates. I add cinnamon, 5 spice, ginger, chocolate collagen powder. I don't like the pepper flavor in it so I fill empty capsules with pepper to take with it. I put it in my nutrabullet with ice or drink in warm during the cold months. Yummy and healthy!

Have you tested what effect stevia/monk fruit has on blood sugar levels? I did and stevia spiked my BG. My question- if you experience a BG spike, is there a commensurate spike in Insulin? I'd appreciate a study on that. Thanks and keep up the great videos!

The benefit of turmeric is bioavailable with a little black pepper. These are the common names of the ingredients you mentioned. Turmeric stains, a bright yellow stain, so be careful with it. ..thats it. In fact, you may like a supplement capsule for that reason. I have it for food preparation, am careful about it. I learned a few things about cooking with turmeric when I lived in San Francisco. Turmeric should be added to heated oil in the pan, spread it around and heat it gently to a slightly darker color, otherwise it has a raw taste. ..an inexperienced cook is said to have raw turmeric. If it is a fine powder, it does very well for a herbal tea with a few grains of black pepper added for the beneficial effect. It will stain the cup, so the glazing of the cup is important. I wash it immediately of use a double-wall titanium cup I especially like to use to keep my cup of tea warm.

As always thanks for sharing. Subject matter is endless when schooling the non doctor public. Repeat, repeat, repeat and maybe it'll sink in. Good advice on keeping one's diet / menu simple .. . thank you. I also enjoyed the break down of what's in food(s) that matter for a specific condition and / or overall good health. I feel if people can gain knowledge of food(s) at the chemical level and see that the human body and food(s) are one big chemistry experiment we'd all be better off for it. This chemical balance is to be individually mastered. We need not just seeing food(s) that are eye candy on a store shelf or as a mental feel good magic pill, we'd all be better off for this. Seeing past the fancy labels and pretty colors of food packaging (incld. real foods - veggies, meats etc.) one will be on the way to seeing what is really in that package; in a chemical kind of way. Process food(s) (in a way) are not made to be consumed as much as they are made to be sold. Our ancestors did not see the pretty colors and fancy labels in a hunter / gather world. It just was ... it just was a need over a want ... because the efforts to gain a food source took real work and danger. Let life not be so easy that we overlook what is bad for us. Again thank you both for sharing. So sorry your favorite routine of dining out could not be done due to Covid19. Something to look forward to in the near future ... I hope.
