Huge GMT800 nerd, personal favourite trucks are the 2006 Intimidator SS, regency crewcabs, Remingtons arms edition, the Joe Gibbs trucks and the Home Depot Joe Gibbs avalanches, they also made a lowes edition that was actually a give away truck. The 5.5-6.5 ESV Platty Escalades had some killer chrome interior parts that was only for that truck. They did share the steering wheels with the top trim envoys, trailblazers and Buick Rainier.

The late 05-06 Escalades are the top tier GMT800s imo. For that 1.5 model years only you could get a short wheel base 2wd LQ9 Escalade. I owned a late 05 2wd with 275k on the original engine/trans when it got totaled, replaced it with a 2wd 06. Took a lot of hunting to find both of them rust free.

@StationroadRatrods It definitely moves. Unfortunately both of mine have had open rear diffs, so just 1 wheel burnouts. But a trutrac is on the list of eventual upgrades. Working on a cam now and a 2/3 drop is next.

I have one 215K miles running strong on e85 and or 91 and same fuel pump from 2010 same transmission same everything other than radiator and water pump 😂😮😅❤👌🏻💪🏻

That Quadrasteer was no joke! Years ago I damn near bought one. But I really needed a diesel. Unfortunately in typical GM fashion. They didn’t ever offer it on vehicles that it would actually have sold well… and on top of that they never advertised it in anything other than a 30 minute long infomercial in the overnight hours of television. They never offered it with an Duramax. But I can tell you… If they had made a crew cab long bed 3500 with a Duramax and Q-Steer. I’d have bought it and I’d still have it to this day.

Any V8 manual transmission GMT800 is rare, especially a Duramax. Been a tech for 30+ years have seen 1.

2001-2002 had the most manual transmissions sold. The rarest would be the 8.1L with a manual instead of the Allison. Especially 4wd. If they even offered it. EDIT - not offered on pickups? C4500/c5500 had it maybe? I know 6.0L gas pickups had 4x4 w/manual option. I found 1 pickup for sale online that is the duramax 4x4 6 speed manual. In Tennessee.

@@wyattgardner3552 I wish I could answer that, I live in Michigan, done fleet work, fork lift / material handling service, marine service, and automotive service for 3 decades, I haven't seen everything, but I've never seen anything BUT the Allison behind an 8.1. The ZF 6S 650 is an OK box. Not sure I'd try to push 2X the power it's rated for, (in something heavy) , but it's OK for stock, and near stock applications.

gm is bringing back the “quadrasteer”..whenever they do something and its low production number’s, and not really pushed for sales, its because they are using it as a test bed to gain knowledge on the system, then they go back and refine it more.

With how big GM trucks and SUVs have become, the quad steer system should be brought back. It’s being used now by luxury cars like the S-Class and the 7-Series, I don’t why the new SUVs that are bigger than some houses shouldn’t have that.

Dont come at me if im wrong about this, but my dad told me that the quadrasteer trucks were super unreliable and broke all the time he said a buddy of his bought one brand new and the quadrasteer functionality broke within a week of him owning the truck

Since alot of these truck have interchangeable parts getting a 01 or 02 yukon denali and swapping everything over will get you a c3 sierra. Youll just need to source the rare exclusive rear bench seat and chrome rear door handles and then youll have a C3 clone
