5 Performance tests! KTM 790 adventure R, 0-100, 0-60, Top Speed, Braking, 100-150, Speedo overread

We do 5 Performance tests on the KTM 790 Adventure R.
Acceleration from stand still and rolling acceleration, top speed runs, brake tests and comparing GPS to speedometer.
All acceleration and top speed tests are done at 1753m(5751ft) ASL and will improve dramatically if done at sea level.
Following are tested:
0-100km/h @ 00:10
2 runs accelerating from stand still to above 100km/h
0-60mph @ 01:10
2 runs accelerating from standstill to above 60mph
Top speed runs @ 01:58
3 runs testing the top speed (inconclusive due to high speed front end instability
100-150km/h @ 03:02
2 runs, one in 6th gear, other in 5th gear with direct comparison between the two with the difference it takes to get to 150km/h
Braking test @ 03:19
How fast can we stop from 100km/h to 0km/h
Speedometer vs GPS speed reading @ 03:33
We see what GPS reads when the speedometer reads 100km/h, then calculate the percentage off.
Weight and wind resistance of larger rider also plays a significant part in acceleration and top end speed.

With two side panniers (mosko 35L) and 2 top bags loaded i did 185-195 kmh, with no load 200kmh. 790 adv, Mitas 07 tyres.

My 790 adv S is a lot faster...probably is the weight of the rider and his luggage...on my (i am 80kg) 790 is easy to go 'till 210 kmh..790 has more power of an africatwin but weight 40kg less. And has inertial plattform, tubeless, tft, and abs CORNERING. Africa has not these 4 skills

Absolutely agree, but in KTM's defense, we are at a very high altitude, and I remember from my superbike track racing days, there is a large difference in performance from up here to sea level. Every performance measurement you will see from the manufacturers is at sea level. We have an Africa Twin Adventure Sports 2019 performance test on the way, also a KLR 650 with a 685 conversion kit performance test coming soon. Same altitude, same rider. That should put it into perspective. Then hopefully someday soon, we will take bikes down to sea level and do the performance tests again :)
