Katie. I lived in Atlanta from 95-2000. Love Atlanta, the folks, THE FOOD, all the different things to do. GR is a bit different, for instance you can find a river, stream, pond, lake within 10 minutes from almost everywhere. I remember the big to-do in ATL about a new bridge over the river there. We have bridges over water everywhere. We have golf course’s all over as well, every difficulty and price range. Kent trail for walking or biking goes from one of the city to the other. Not any cooler in summer here then GA it just doesn’t last as long. Winters can be brutal. I do not lie when I say we get everything 10 years late. We had minor BLM trouble this last summer. Really great place to live, work, play and raise a family. There’s a church and a bar on every corner. OH!! Almost forgot. We are beer city USA as well.

Cost of living is outrageous My apartment in Detroit was cheaper then GR
@tdevianc6794 жыл бұрын
Live Great Grand Rapids I paid 800 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment which is considered cheap In GR then the new people bought it and put me out so they could get the unit to market rate! GR is expensive for a working single person! If you’re married and got 2 incomes it’s more reasonable! I moved back to Detroit and pay 750 a month for a single family house in a decent neighborhood in Detroit!
@sm36753 жыл бұрын
Its detroit.... it outta be cheap.
@tdevianc6793 жыл бұрын
Google User Detroit is more rooted! Some of the jobs in Detroit pay more than jobs in GR. GR is easier to get in jobs. I personally like Southfield the best. In Detroit you live where you can afford. In GR Well it don’t matter it’s all expensive and only caters to Hippie/Hipsters types.

Kathryn, I hope that you are referring to snow, when you state that Grand Rapids is “very tight and white”. Just imagine if I were to say that Georgia is very black. I would be upsetting to blacks and be called a racist. That is a two-way street. Both whites and blacks should be recognizing the sacrifice of Martin Luther King, who abolished institutional racism in this country. Of course, it still exists but is not just one-sided and it is not the way the media, Hollywood, some government sources want us to believe.
