My Jack Russell terrier fully realized something was really wrong. So she started acting ridiculous to cheer me up. She made me smile, when I was thinking I never would smile ever again.

Actually you are close. Dogs are vulnerable when taking a dump. So the pack members hang together so the vulnerable member is protected. If your dog follows you to the toilet, chances are they are there as a precaution because you are vulnerable. Same if your dog commands space on a bed with you. Together you have a better chance of protecting each other. Husky are one of the strongest pack mentality dogs we have. Working husky have to depend on the team to do their job. If your husky is clingy they seem you as their pack and are there to do their job and defend the pack.

Jesse was my most beloved pet, we had such an amazing bond & he followed me everywhere even to the bathroom too. The reason dogs follow you into to the bathroom is because it’s their instinct. In a pack a dog would protect another dog while it is going to the bathroom for back up in case something tries to attack him. Dogs feel really venerable when they are pooping so in their minds they think you are in a venerable position too. Your dog is simply watching out for your safety just as when he is taking a poop and is eyeing you for back up to keep him safe. This means the dog thinks you as a part of their pack so when the dog follows you to the bathroom don’t yell at him/her to go away, they are trying to protect you.

I had three Siberian huskies, and they all had different personalities that’s for sure. And they are kind of weird strange dogs. I only have Miska now she’s the baby out of all of them. It’s funny she always wants to put her nose between my legs to be petted. I don’t know why. She wants her belly rubbed when I’m driving so if I don’t.
