Bought my limited with the 2.5 engine as standard a few weeks ago. Took it on a trip from California to Oregon and got to test the AWD on the sandy beach. It was so much fun! Also the Crosstrek drove perfectly fine through the rain with no slipping.

I recently replaced my 2018 premium that got totaled in an accident. I purchased a 2021 Crosstrek Sport. It's nice a upgrade. The extra power from the 2.5l engine is nice and noticeable.

The AMC Eagle/SX4 and Suzuki SX4 were years before the Crosstrek. The Crosstrek gets WAY better hwy MPG, but the AMC had sturdy steel bumpers. The thing that separates the Crosstrek from its competition is its aftermarket support. Skids, rockers, a rear locker, a front LSD, a winch, and 225/65R17 AT/MT tires can all be installed onto a 2018-present Crosstrek.

Better hope once it is out of warranty they don't go out. You have to replace the whole headlight and the OEM replacements are $785 a piece.

Little late to reply BUT... The lane departure assist can be turned off as can the start/stop with a simple push of 2 buttons that takes like 2 seconds. If you can't spare that much time, just hit the lane departure assist and save yourself a second. As far as the start/stop, if you don't try to push your foot thru the floor when you stop, it won't work anyway. I've had my '21 Limited for a year and mines shut off twice, and I don't hit the button at all. One of those 2 times I was on a hill, going up. Your mpg is a tad off, I'm averaging 32.2 to 33.5 over the last year. That's about a 50/50 split of city/highway.

Between the oil consumption, head gaskets, exterior finish issues, interior durability, super thin exterior panel dent susceptibility and the industries ugliest roof rail set-up, there is no way I will ever own another one. @@dustyburner Yikes, you certainly paint a grim picture for Subaru, and you're not the only one mentioning those types of issues that I've seen either. Those oil consumption/gasket issues, which are seemingly endemic for the Subaru boxer engines, along with the build quality problems you mention are what's giving me pause every time I think of getting one. That doesn't seem to deter many others, however, since cars like the CrossTrek fly out of dealerships, at least here in Toronto.

This is in no way a "crossover" or anything related to a SUV. This is completely a car. It's a AWD mini-wagon with a slight suspension lift. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm a bit sick of the SUV craze, and people should really be buying cars. Maybe one in a hundred SUVs see anything other than asphalt, and maybe occasionally a little gravel under their tires. And they're so tall the block the view of other drivers.

Hated mine from the first hour. The shift rattle drives me nuts. The lane correct is annoying, dangerous when driving into the sun as it gets confused. The auto stop is simply awful. The radio always starting is annoying. The braking has slammed on the brakes 11 times so far, I fear being rear ended every time I drive it. My best mileage is 24.9 which is deplorable. Rate for perfect credit is bait and switch. Other than that it is a solid car.

@@michaels999 CX-30 is also like sitting in a bathtub because the door panels are so high, and the rear leg room is non existant. It is a front wheel drive vehicle that the all wheel drive only kicks in when the front wheels slip. Subaru is full time all wheel drive with a 60/40 split and can be 50/50 if conditipns warrant.

Bad idea if you drive a lot at night. One, halogens push their beam of light further down the road then any current LEDs. Fact. Second, you change the bulbs to leds, the housing might not have been designed for that type of lighting. Further diminishing your visibility at night. Just to look Kool? Leds are great as marker lights, tail lights. Until they figure our how to push the light further down the road as a headlight, I'll stick to halogens.

@@DS..69 The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested the headlights for the 2020 Crosstrek and claim the LED headlights do better. They rate the halogens as "poor."

Offer that 2.5 in the Impreza. I own a 2018 Impreza hatchback. My only complaint is that 2.0 weak engine. I just wish that Subaru would,at least offer a 2.5 in all trim levels I need another new car. And I want a,Subaru. BUT I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER 2.0...LISTEN UP SUBARU.

Thanks for the informative video, but I find it curious that the voice over is not matching what you're saying while you're driving! Usually, when auto reviewers use voice over, they're not talking in the test drive footage, and if they are talking then they use that audio instead of the voice over.

Thanks Sammy. The voice over is not meant to match the driving footage as those clips are from my full review. The point of the 5 reasons why vids is to provide additional information with the footage I captured during my review as the test drives are only 15-20 mins at best. Making these videos takes a lot of work and time, and to try cramming live shots for the 5 reasons why vids on the same day as a 3-5 hour shoot just isn’t practical or efficient
